Never thought signing up for Tough Mudder would change so much more than just my fitness.

What started as “I should probably do a bit of running” somehow turned into 5am alarms, freezing morning runs and creating a 6am running club that kept getting bigger every week (not sure if everyone needs therapy or just less sleep 😂).

When you run your own business, the pressure never really switches off. Running became my reset button. It helped me clear my head, stress less, and become a better husband, dad and business owner… although apparently now I talk about protein and running shoes far too much.

Huge thank you to everyone who joined the runs and kept me going. Especially my wife, who somehow supported all this madness while waiting for me after every run with egg and bacon ready like I’d just completed military service 😂❤️

And of course to my girls, waiting for me at the finish line with smiles, cuddles and support after every muddy mile — that made every 5am start worth it ❤️

Tough Mudder might be over, but the running definitely isn’t 🏃‍♂️🔥

A few weeks ago this was piles of spoil, old blocks and a lot of groundwork ahead of us…

Now it’s completely transformed.

The goal from the start was to create a clean, modern entrance that suited the property and completely lifted the front of the house.

From excavation and preparation to the final detailing, every part of this driveway was built with care — and the charcoal blocks with the lighter border finished it perfectly.

It’s where mornings begin, where conversations happen, where family gathers at the end of the day…
and this one wasn’t always like this.

This project started with a closed-off, outdated kitchen that just didn’t work for modern family life.
So we opened it all up — removing the wall and creating one beautiful, flowing space between the kitchen and dining area.

Now it’s bright, spacious, and made for real living.
Cooking, hosting, kids doing homework at the island… everything happens here.

And that’s what we love most — not just building kitchens, but creating spaces where life happens.

10 days to go until Tough Mudder 💪🏽

I’m taking this on for The Children’s Society, supporting children facing hardship, abuse and homelessness — a cause that means even more to me since becoming a father of two.

Running has changed my life. As a busy business owner, those 6am runs have become my reset — and I’m so grateful to everyone who has joined my little running club along the way 🙏

I’ve already clocked up 173km towards 200km in training, and now I’m asking for one final push — not just from me, but from anyone who might be able to donate.

This was a little different from the usual — and we still think it looks amazing.

Black limestone isn’t the most common patio material, which is exactly why this project had such impact. It gave the space a bold, distinctive look while still sitting naturally within the garden.

The rain in these photos actually shows the stone off at its best — the darker tones deepen, the texture comes through, and the whole patio almost glows. Combined with the linear drainage detail and crisp laying pattern, it made for a really elegant finish.

One of those projects that reminds us unusual choices can sometimes be the best ones.
