What a brilliant day we’ve had down at the Maryport Trawler Race and Maryport Rescue Fun Day! 🚤🎉

We’re proud to be supporting another fantastic local event by providing the Heras fencing, the stage and a few of our diggers for the showground. 🚧🏗️

Let’s hope the weather holds out tomorrow for another great day! If you haven’t already been down, make sure you check it out.

P.S. There are free sweets waiting at the diggers — first come, first served! 🍬

🌒 A rare sight over Cumbria tonight!

Tonight, Cumbria is set to get a pretty impressive view of the partial solar eclipse, with the Moon passing between the Earth and the Sun.

It’s expected to begin at around 6:11pm, reaching its maximum at approximately 7:08pm, when around 92% of the Sun will be covered, before finishing shortly after 8pm.

Just not directly at the Sun — proper certified eclipse glasses or a safe indirect viewing method are essential.

Now all we need is the Cumbrian weather to play ball… which might be asking a bit much. 😂☁️

Labourers Required – Start Last week in august.

Maryport Groundwork LTD is looking for hardworking labourers to join our team on a 7-month demolition project in Cumbria.

The role involves soft stripping buildings as part of a fast-paced demolition programme. This is physically demanding work, so we’re looking for reliable people with a strong work ethic who aren’t afraid of getting stuck in.

What we’re looking for:

* Reliable and punctual – if you struggle to get out of bed in the morning, this job probably isn’t for you.
* Hardworking with a positive attitude.
* Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* CSCS or CCDO card preferred (not essential).
* Driving licence preferred (not essential).

What we offer:

* Approximately 7 months’ work.
* Work based in Cumbria.
* Transport provided from our yard in Maryport to site each morning and back to the yard at the end of the day.
* Competitive rates of pay, depending on experience.

If you’re reliable, willing to work hard, and want to be part of a busy demolition team, we’d like to hear from you.

Our nephew has been hard at work creating something a little different. We reckon it’s got more character than half the AI-generated posts out there!

Lovely day up at Haig Colliery Mining Museum on Friday. ☀️

It’s fantastic to see such an important part of Whitehaven’s history being preserved for future generations. We’re proud to be playing a small part in the project and contributing to the restoration of such an iconic local landmark.

If you’re out for a walk in the area, it’s well worth stopping by. There’s plenty to see, and the Cafe is a great place to grab a brew and a bite to eat while you’re there. Highly recommended!
