We’re a small, independent groundwork, demolition and plant hire company based in West Cumbria, supporting projects across domestic, commercial and industrial sectors.

From site clearance, foundations, drainage, concreting and fencing through to demolition, soft strip works, plant hire, civil engineering and general contracting, we help clients get their projects completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

We’re not the biggest company in the industry, and we’re okay with that. What we do pride ourselves on is being reliable, responsive and easy to work with.

Our lads have recently completed a V Mesh fencing installation at a school in Cockermouth, providing a clean, secure and professional finish for the site.

The full working area was safely fenced off using Heras fencing throughout the works, helping keep the site secure and ensuring the safety of pupils, staff and the public while the job was carried out.

V Mesh fencing is a great option for schools and commercial properties, offering strong security while still keeping the area looking smart and tidy.

Brilliant effort from the team as always. 👏

A true friend of the firm has been taken far too soon.

John was always there when you needed him most, never shy of helping out and always bringing a laugh with his high-pitched giggle and contagious daftness. There was never a dull moment when John was around.

He will be a huge miss to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, and especially within the community.

Until we meet again, John. Rest easy, big man. You’ll never be forgotten. ❤️

Recent fencing job completed

Another tidy job completed by the team at Maryport Groundwork LTD.

For this one, we stripped out and removed the old existing fence before replacing it with a fresh, modern fence made up of concrete posts, gravel boards and panelled fencing.

A much cleaner, stronger and longer-lasting finish for the customer, giving the area a smart new look while also improving durability.

🔨 Something a little different for the team this week…

Our joiner has been busy over in Cockermouth, working in the local paper shop as part of an ongoing project 👷‍♂️

Works included removing the old ceiling and existing floor joists before installing new joists, all completed to a high standard.

The job has now been officially passed off by Building Control ✅

Another stage ticked off and ready to move onto the next phase 💪

We’re currently assisting with delivering a large regeneration package up at Centre Parcs - Whinfell Forest, working for Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd.

- Our scope of works includes:

- Complete soft strip of 110 lodges

- Mix of double-storey units and bungalows

- Full internal strip back to shell

- Chimney removals through properties

- Preparation and handover ready for follow-on trades

This is a full regeneration strip-out programme
Projects of this size demand strong coordination, strict health & safety standards, and clear communication with other trades operating across the park.
