🔥 NEW COURSE THIS WEEKEND 🔥

We're delighted to welcome Adam Greenwell back to the forge this weekend for the first running of our Blacksmith's Knife & Flint Steel course.

Participants will learn a range of traditional blacksmithing techniques while forging their own knife and flint steel to take home.

We love seeing what happens to our students’ work once it leaves the forge — and this week Sean kindly sent us photos of his finished bird feeder in situ 🐦🔥

An original design by guest tutor Adam Greenwell, Sean put his own spin on it by creating a hanging feeder rather than adding a ground stake … mainly because of his cats, who apparently take birdwatching a little too seriously 😼

It’s one of the best things about these courses — everyone starts with the same core techniques, but the finished pieces reflect the personality, ideas, and creativity of the maker. Sean’s feeder looks fantastic; full of character - both functional and a piece of forged art.

This absolutely made our day. Thanks Sean 👏

Great fun, a healthy dose of rivalry, and a little bit of chaos at the forge yesterday when brothers Ross and Colin joined us for our Intro course 🔥

After completing the main project, there was time left over to make their own creations — including a very funky bottle opener!

As for the group photo… well, most people face the camera! 🤦‍♂️😂

A brilliant day with lots of laughs and some great work produced. 👏👏

Another standout day at the forge again at the weekend, creating hand-forged bird feeders with Adam Greenwell. 🔥

Each piece was beautifully crafted and individual - true functional pieces of art.

We always love welcoming Adam to teach - we learn so much. His knowledge and skill make the courses a rewarding experience for everyone involved.

A huge well done to the group for producing such impressive work 👏 👏

A warm one at the forge yesterday 🔥☀️ — but that didn’t stop the enthusiasm!

The group got stuck into our Introduction to Blacksmithing course - learning the basics, and experiencing the thrill of shaping hot metal for the first time. Despite the heat, energy levels stayed high and the forge was full of focus, determination, and plenty of smiles.

Another great day at the anvil. Well done everyone 👏👏👏

We recently welcomed three returning blacksmiths to the Forge for our Forging Forward course 🌼

It was great to see familiar faces back with us and ready to continue developing their skills and build on the techniques already learnt in our Intro course with growing confidence.

The group crafted hand-forged daffodils - each one unique and full of character. Seeing returning guests grow in skill, creativity, and confidence is one of the best parts of what we do. A huge well done to all three of them — it was a pleasure to have you back at the anvil. 👏

What a fantastic day at the forge yesterday 🔥☀️

We welcomed a brilliant cohort onto our Introduction to Blacksmithing course — six individual participants, arriving as strangers and leaving as friends.

Set against a beautiful sunny day here on the farm, it was one of those special sessions where the sparks were flying, the conversation flowed, and everyone really bonded over the shared experience of learning something completely new.

There’s something about working with fire, steel, and hammer in hand that brings people together in the best way.

A truly fun and memorable day — and some fantastic pieces forged along the way.
