Ramsay and Jackson was founded in the 1940's and was originally involved in threshing contracting using steam traction engines. The sales and repair side of the business soon evolved with the three Ramsay brothers mainly Neil, Billy and Robin becoming partners with their mother Isabella Jackson and step father James Jackson. The contracting side of the business continued on until the 1970's when t

he last combine harvester was sold off to allow more time to be spent on the growing machinery supply and repair business. The firm is presently run by Billy and Neil Ramsay who are the sons of the original partners. At present 12 people are employed at the new purpose built premises at knowehead works, Mauchline.

2026 marks 30 years of Takeuchi in the UK, celebrating three decades of innovation, reliability and quality in construction machinery.

To mark the occasion, we’re delighted to celebrate with John and Karen Paterson of John M Paterson Ltd, who are pictured collecting their 188th Takeuchi machine supplied by Ramsay & Jackson, a fantastic milestone and a very special achievement!

The latest machine is a special 30th anniversary edition Takeuchi TB290-2, making this delivery even more memorable.

A huge thank you to John, Karen and everyone at John M Paterson Ltd for their continued support and loyalty over the years. Supplying 188 Takeuchi machines is a testament to the fantastic relationship we’ve built together.🤝
