Exmoor Search & Rescue Team
We’re really excited to publicly announce the arrival of Ex.94 (Mk.3), the latest vehicle to join our fleet of specialist emergency response vehicles and our designated water rescue vehicle.
As the operational capabilities and demands of the team evolve, so do the requirements of our vehicles. The development of our water rescue capabilities and the availability of additional water rescue equipment prompted the need for a new vehicle with a greater payload, a larger equipment storage area and additional seating for team members.
Our new vehicle, a bespoke Land Rover Defender 130 High-Capacity Pickup (HCPU), replaces our previous Defender 110 and has been purpose built to meet the long-term needs of the team and to provide a platform for both routine search and rescue deployments and water specific incidents across our operational area, the southwest and nationally when providing mutual aid to large-scale multi-agency flood responses.
The conversion of a stock vehicle to a specialist Mountain Rescue response vehicle is a lengthy process and we’re exceptionally grateful for the support, guidance and expertise offer by James from 4x4Adventures.co.uk throughout the build process. We’ve been generously supported by a large number of sponsors, donors, and suppliers through the build process, we’d like to express our sincere thanks for their support and generosity.
