The design concept for this barn conversion project aimed to seamlessly blend modern functionality with the rustic charm of the existing main dwelling. Externally, we opted for a contemporary look with a flat roof and vertical timber Larch wood cladding, harmonising the annex's appearance with its surroundings.

Internally, our focus was on maximising space and comfort. By repurposing the porch into a lounge, we optimised the annex's layout, with two bedrooms and a bathroom on one side and the kitchen/dining area at the center, flanked by a study and lounge. This arrangement ensures convenience and flow.

To enhance the living experience, we introduced roof lights throughout the annex, flooding the space with natural light. This creates an inviting atmosphere and reduces reliance on artificial lighting, promoting sustainability.

Our ultimate goal was to exceed the client's expectations while adhering to their brief. We're pleased that the client was satisfied with the outcome, as it reflects our dedication to excellence and innovation in every aspect of the design and ex*****on process.

Here is the second set of design drawings for the expansion of the bungalow for our client.

These drawings consist of the following:-

(A) The main section through the extension, highlighting the roof, walls, floor, and foundations construction. Breakfast island, rainwater, and bulkhead details.

(B) Roof setting out plan, complete with parapet walls and roof lights details.

(C) M&E services layout setting the Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health requirements.

All drawings have been designed to comply with building regulations and have been submitted to the local authority building control for approval.

Phase 2 of the project is now complete. The building reg drawings have been produced, issued, approved, and are now ready for construction.

The client had made some additional requirements which meant tweaking the design internally, however, all works are ready to go now.

Here are the revised plans and elevations along with the setting out plan and elevation drawings for the new extension and garage conversion.
