A plaque will be installed at the OU campus to celebrate Beagle 2 - the 1st British & European spacecraft to land on another planet.
The Beagle 2 project was spearheaded by the late Prof Colin Pilinger who worked at the OU for many years. 🚀

Beagle 2 reached the surface in 2003, but it was not known until 2015, a professor says.

🪐 A funded PhD opportunity at The Open University will support Europe’s first Mars rover mission.

As part of the EXODOCS doctoral network, the successful candidate will work with ExoMars scientific teams to help analyse the Martian environment using data from the Rosalind Franklin rover.
