From flat sheet to fitted worktop…

Here we follow a set of kitchen worktops through the DFMK factory – from 18mm Meganite® Carrara Pro sheets to the finished installation.

The material is new to us, so this was a good opportunity to put it through the full process and get to know how it performs.

First, the sheets are CNC cut to the required shapes and dimensions. From there, the team fabricates the pieces, sands and finishes every edge, then completes a final inspection before fitting.

The result is a clean, hard-wearing kitchen surface, made to suit the space and fitted with the accuracy the project needs. The client said after the installation:

“I just wanted to say thank you to the guys that came today and did a fantastic job! “💬

We’ll be sharing the finished case study with Meganite® shortly. For now, these photos give a closer look at the work that happens between the first cut and the final fit.

Factory Floor Friday is back! 💪

The shop floor is incredibly busy at the moment, with several bespoke projects taking shape side by side.

First up are vanity tops in HIMACS Shadow Queen, shown at different stages of fabrication. Next, a second run of bespoke vanity tops in HIMACS Bellizzi, ready for their final finishing and inspection.

Further along the workshop, the circular base section of a meeting desk is being fabricated in Corian Limestone Prima. You’ll also see the individual shelving and component sections that will come together to form a reception wall.

Different materials and applications, but the same requirement throughout... accurate fabrication, careful finishing and a team with the skill to get every detail right!

We recently worked closely with Total Laminate Systems, to create a new two-tier bar area at a Premier League football club.

The brief called for a fast turnaround ahead of a major match. From templating through to manufacture and installation, the full project was completed in just 10 days!

The striking new bar features two circular HIMACS Terrazzo Nuvola tops:

• 2.8m diameter lower section
• 2m diameter upper section
• 30mm-thick solid surface
• Full undercladding in white melamine-faced MDF

Our team templated the space, fabricated both tops and installed them ready for opening.

A good example of what’s possible when detailed fabrication, accurate planning and a tight programme all need to come together. Great to work with you again, Total Laminate Systems.
