This week, our team has been manufacturing structural fabrications 🏗️ for one of our OEM customers, showcasing our end-to-end fabrication and welding expertise ⚙️.

These components have been laser cut, formed, and fully welded in-house by one of our highly skilled coded welders 👨‍🏭, working to ISO 4063 – 135 standards. By combining advanced manufacturing processes with experienced craftsmanship 🛠️, we deliver high-quality assemblies that meet the demanding requirements of our customers.

We’re proud to share a great example of what true collaboration can achieve in manufacturing.

Working closely with the engineering team at our automotive OEM customer, alongside toolmaker Whiston Industries Ltd , we helped develop a complex deep drawn metal pressing that was not only fit for purpose—but optimised for long-term production success.

From the early design stages, the focus was on ensuring the component was fully compatible with the deep drawing process. By aligning design intent with manufacturing reality, we were able to eliminate potential issues before they reached the shop floor.

The result? A robust, high-quality component supported by tooling that has now been running in production for six years—with minimal maintenance required.

This project highlights the value of early supplier involvement, open collaboration, and designing with process capability in mind. It’s a testament to what can be achieved when customer, manufacturer, and toolmaker work as one team.

Here’s a great example: a 4-stage press tool, expertly manufactured by our sister company Ryeland Toolmakers Ltd, delivered ahead of schedule. This enabled our customer to carry out builds and testing using parts produced entirely through series production processes, giving them confidence in both quality and readiness.

A customer came to us after struggling with a critical garage door panel — bowing, distortion & splitting had caused ongoing quality and delivery issues. The tooling had already moved four times, and we were the fifth company to take it on.

Working with our sister company, Ryeland Toolmakers, we refined the tool and optimised production. The result?

Right process for the right part!

This component for the construction industry is a prime example of how choosing the correct manufacturing process can save you time and money.

When our customer asked us to collaborate with them and find a simpler manufacturing solution for this part, our team were happy to accept the challenge. The client had a convoluted supply route on long lead times involving four different suppliers in laser cutting, forming, machining & powder coating.

Now, the part is produced in seconds on a 3-stage press tool designed & manufactured by our sister company Ryeland Toolmakers Ltd Add in the fact that MKP also powder coat the part in-house, and now our customer has the complete turnkey solution they were looking for at a fraction of their previous costs.

We’re proud to share a major milestone for a recent project — the first successful production run from our new press tool is complete! 🎉

Bringing a new tool into full production is always a significant moment. From design and manufacture through to commissioning and PPAP approval, this project has been a fantastic example of collaboration, precision engineering, and attention to detail.

Having the tool manufactured in-house by our sister company, Ryeland Toolmakers was key to the smooth launch of this new product. Their expertise and craftsmanship behind the build gave us complete confidence in both quality and performance — and the results speak for themselves.

The first run delivered:
