From Barley to Beer, and Back Again!

We're excited to share the truly local, sustainable journey of your favorite brew from The Gipsy Hill Brewing Co.! From grain to glass and back to grain, we're closing the loop and keeping it all within 6 miles.

Here's how it works:

1️⃣ We collect spent grain from The Gipsy Hill Brewing Co just a short hop, skip and a drive away.
2️⃣ This grain is transported to our Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant in Mitcham, where we transform it into gas and electricity.
3️⃣ We feed this renewable energy directly back into the grid, reducing the need for fossil fuels.
4️⃣ What's left over after the process, the 'digestate', is spread on fields around London, where it enriches the soil and helps to grow more barley and other crops.
5️⃣ This barley is then used to brew more beer, completing the circle!

But wait, there's more! Our vehicles are powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), produced during our AD process, making this a carbon-neutral system!

Yes, your pint of Gipsy Hill is not just quenching your thirst; it's playing its part in a greener, cleaner London! Cheers to that!

Here’s one for our planet and the lovely bunch that drink our beer on it 🌎🍺📍

So, you reeeallly wanna get your hands on the world’s first offset-free carbon-negative pints – but with so many incredible venues, where do you try first?!

How do Bio Collectors contribute to ?🌍

Well, aside from our carbon neutral, low emission, food-waste powered vehicles we also recycle up to 100,000 tons of London's food waste every year, stopping it from being incinerated or going to landfill by turning it into gas and electricity for use in homes and businesses plus a natural fertiliser for agriculture

If you have a business that produces food waste, talk to us today to find out how we can help you be greener, cleaner and save money at the same time bit.ly/344i3u7
