🏡 THIS ONE WAS MORE THAN JUST A PEBBLE DASH… 👀

What started as an exterior renovation quickly turned into one of those projects where you never quite know what you're going to uncover once you start stripping things back!

We were asked to completely remove the existing pebble dash from this bungalow and give the property a fresh new finish using Canterbury Spar aggregate.

But, as is often the case with older properties, once we got back to the original brickwork, we uncovered a problem that couldn't be ignored…

🔨 A rotten timber lintel above one of the openings.

The area was carefully supported while we removed the failed timber and replaced it with a new concrete lintel, ensuring the opening was properly supported before carrying on with the external works.

Once the necessary repairs were complete, we got to work preparing the main property before applying the new pebble dash finish using Canterbury Spar aggregate.

The result has completely freshened up the bungalow while keeping the character of the original property.

And then there was the pool entrance… 🏊‍♂️

The property has a swimming pool housed within the garage to the rear, and the existing entrance had previously been rendered directly over timber boards. The previous finish was badly deteriorated and wasn't something we were prepared to simply cover over.

So once again, we stripped it right back, removed the old render and timber backing and replaced it with cement board, providing a much more suitable base before applying the new pebble dash finish.

The end result is a much cleaner, more consistent finish across the entire property, with the new areas blending naturally into the existing building.

The work included:

✔️ Removal of existing pebble dash from the main bungalow
✔️ Replacement of a rotten timber lintel with a new concrete lintel
✔️ Preparation of brickwork ready for new finish
✔️ New pebble dash applied using Canterbury Spar aggregate
✔️ Removal of failed render from the swimming pool entrance
✔️ Removal of unsuitable timber boarding
✔️ New cement board backing installed
✔️ Pebble dash applied to the pool entrance to match the main property
✔️ Detailed finishing around windows, doors and existing features

Sometimes the biggest part of a job isn't what you can see at the end… it's dealing properly with what you find underneath.

We're really pleased with the finished result on this one. The property has had a fresh new lease of life, and what could have been a simple cosmetic job turned into a much more involved project that we're proud to have completed properly.

🏡 FROM TIRED RENTAL TO MARKET-READY FAMILY HOME ✨

Some houses just need a lick of paint…

This one needed a completely fresh start.

Our customer asked us to take a property that had been rented out for many years and transform it into a modern home ready for the sales market. Years of tenants and general wear and tear had taken their toll, leaving the property tired, dated and in need of a full renovation.

The JSW team stripped the property right back and rebuilt it into a bright, modern home that's completely unrecognisable from where it started.

This wasn't just a makeover – it was a full property renovation from top to bottom.

Here's what we completed:

🏠 Complete strip-out of the existing property.

🍽️ Supply and installation of a brand-new modern kitchen.

🛁 Full bathroom renovation with a brand-new suite and contemporary finish.

✨ Another Stunning Kitchen Transformation Completed ✨

This project completely transformed a dated, enclosed kitchen into a bright, modern open-plan space, creating a much more practical layout for everyday family life. A project we're extremely proud to showcase!

Our team carried out the renovation from start to finish, including:

🔨 Complete strip out of the existing kitchen

🧱 Removal of the existing dividing walls to create a spacious open-plan layout

🚪 Formation of a new opening between the kitchen and conservatory, complete with the installation of a new uPVC sliding door

🚪 Existing opening between the kitchen and front room reduced in size, with a beautiful new timber glazed double door and frame installed

🚿 All plumbing re-worked and renewed throughout

🌧️ FROM A LEAKING OUTBUILDING TO A SPACE THE CUSTOMER CAN FINALLY ENJOY 🏡🥰

Some projects are about creating extra space…

This one was about making the space the customer already had work properly.

When we first arrived, the existing garage and utility area was showing its age. The old corrugated roof had reached the end of its life, water was finding its way in, and the layout simply wasn't making the best use of the available space.

Rather than patching things up, the customer chose to invest in a complete transformation—and we're delighted they trusted the JSW team to bring their vision to life.

Over the course of the project, we stripped everything back and started again.

The old roof was completely removed before a brand-new timber roof structure was built and finished with a GRP fibreglass roof, new leadwork, fascias, soffits and guttering, giving the property a modern, low-maintenance roof that's built to stand the test of time.

Inside, the layout was opened up by removing internal walls, creating a much larger and brighter utility room that now feels like a natural extension of the existing kitchen, while also improving access into the garage and making that space far more practical for everyday use.

To ensure the new space was as comfortable as it is attractive, we fully insulated the utility area, installed a tanking system where required, plasterboarded and skimmed throughout, before screeding the floor ready for a beautiful wood-grain effect cushion vinyl finish.

We also supplied and fitted the customer's new utility kitchen, giving them a practical, modern workspace that perfectly complements the rest of the home.

As part of the project we also completed:

✔️ New windows installed to improve natural light

✔️ Fire doors fitted where required to meet Building Regulations

✔️ New electrics installed throughout the garage

✔️ New plumbing alterations completed to suit the new kitchen layout

One of the biggest challenges on this project was replacing the roof.

With the property's mains electrical supply, consumer unit and newly installed boiler all located within the garage, the building couldn't be left exposed to the weather at any stage. Careful planning, a close eye on the forecast and great teamwork meant we were able to complete the roof safely and keep everything protected throughout.

It's projects like these that remind us why we love what we do. Taking an old, tired and leaking space and turning it into somewhere warm, practical and built to last is incredibly rewarding—and seeing how happy the customer was with the finished result made all the hard work worthwhile.

A recent knock-through project we completed, including the installation of an RSJ beam.

We removed the supporting wall between the kitchen and back room and installed an RSJ to safely support the load-bearing wall above.

The result is a much more open-plan kitchen space that feels brighter and larger.

Another bathroom transformation recently completed ✨🛁

This was originally a small downstairs toilet, but we extended the space and turned it into a full bathroom with a bath and shower area.

The project included structural alterations, a new stud wall, new electrics, full replastering, wall tiling, and tile-effect LVT flooring.

A fantastic end result and a great addition to a beautiful home 🏡 ✅ 😃
