📍 140 tonnes laid, another project completed.

Recently completed in Freystrop, Pembrokeshire, our specialist surfacing team laid 140 tonnes of AC10 Close Surf for one of our clients.

Today marks Terry's final day with Cymru Quarry Group as he retires after more than 40 years of dedicated service.

Before he hung up his hard hat, we caught up with Terry to reflect on his career and the changes he's witnessed throughout the industry. One of the biggest developments, he says, has been the technological advancements in machinery and equipment over the years.

When asked what advice he would give to someone starting out in the industry, Terry highlighted the importance of keeping up with training and continuing to develop your skills and experience throughout your career.

As for his favourite machine? The Cat 352.

"It's the ideal size for the job."

And who has had the biggest influence on his career?

"My wife, who kicked me out of bed every morning!"

As Terry prepares for retirement, he's looking forward to enjoying a few well-earned lie-ins and finally tackling those unfinished DIY projects. One thing he certainly won't miss is the early morning starts, and it's safe to say he'll be making the most of the extra sleep!

Before leaving, Terry wanted to wish all his colleagues good health for the future.

From everyone at Cymru Quarry Group, we'd like to thank Terry for his hard work, commitment and loyalty over the last four decades. People like Terry are the foundation of our business, and we are incredibly grateful for the contribution he has made throughout his career.

Because everyone deserves to get home safe.

At Cymru Quarry Group, safety is about more than procedures and policies. It's about awareness, wellbeing, and the decisions we make every day.

During our recent Summer Safety Pit-Stop, we paused the entire business for the afternoon, bringing colleagues together to review our business and safety performance so far this year, reflect on key focus areas, and take part in a range of interactive learning activities.

We were delighted to welcome the Tidy Butt Charity, whose powerful talk reinforced the importance of mental wellbeing and its impact on our thoughts, actions, and ultimately our safety.

From reaction-time challenges and impairment-goggle exercises to vehicle blind-spot demonstrations, the afternoon provided practical insights that encouraged everyone to think differently about risk, both inside and outside of work.

Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making the event a success. Together, we continue to strengthen our culture of safety, support, and shared responsibility.

Safety starts with each of us. 💙🦺

🚛🤝 Community partnerships in action!

We're proud to have donated 154 tonnes of Type 1 to support improvements at Tenby Football Club, where AmcoGiffen carried out de-vegetation works and installed a new footpath and spectator hardstanding along the touchline.

A fantastic team effort all round, with Flannery Plant Hire providing the machinery needed to get the job done.

It's great to see businesses coming together to make a positive difference for local communities. ⚽💙

One week on from a fantastic day at Haverfordwest Carnival! 🎉

It's hard to believe it's already been a week since Haverfordwest Carnival. We were thrilled to have some of our vehicles in the procession and to be part of such a brilliant community celebration.

A huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers, and everyone who came along to make it such a memorable day. We were delighted to take part!

⛳ What an incredible day!

Our Charity Golf Day brought together customers, suppliers, colleagues and friends in support of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association, a charity that has provided phenomenal support to our colleague Garry and his family.

From the Texas Scramble and raffle to the auction and, of course, the all-important buffet, the day was filled with generosity, laughter and a shared determination to make a difference.

Thanks to the amazing support of everyone involved, we're proud to have raised £3,000 for the MND Association. Every pound raised will help the charity continue providing vital support to individuals and families facing the challenges of MND.

A huge thank you to all of our customers, suppliers and supporters who took time out of their day to be part of such a worthwhile cause. Your generosity and kindness mean so much.

Here's to making a difference, one swing at a time. 💙
