In the latest DDM Focus Workshop we explored the new Quick Load and Quick Save functionality, available in the latest release.

The session explained in detail how Quick Load and Quick Save work when no user interaction is required. This functionality is available in CAD environments that use the new load manager and single save window, for Solid Edge, Inventor and Solidworks at the moment.

The DDM 2026.04 release introduces important enhancements to the Bulk Item Editor, giving teams greater control, flexibility and security when managing bulk attribute updates.

Key highlights include:
• Remember Password Option - Users in Bulk Item Editor and CAD Rename Manager power groups can now securely remember their password for a configurable period, reducing repeated password entry during short-term bulk update tasks.
• Attribute Level Permissions - Administrators can now grant Bulk Item Editor access on specific attributes and workflow states for individual groups, allowing controlled updates to selected data only.
• Restricted Attribute Visibility - Users will now only see the attributes they have permission to modify, helping simplify the editing process and improve security.
• Reduced Need for Revisions - Non-design affecting information such as supplier details, build line data and certification information can now be updated without moving items back to Work in Progress or creating unnecessary reissues.
• Independent Security Settings - Password memory settings for the Bulk Item Editor and CAD Rename Manager can now be configured independently within the Admin Tool.

In our latest Focus Workshop, we explored the advanced features of the Bulk Item Editor.

The session showed how users can efficiently update attributes across multiple items at once, whether that’s correcting errors or applying changes across a project. We also looked at how access to the bulk editor can be carefully controlled, from general users through to admin level “power group” permissions.

A key highlight was the introduction of attribute specific permissions, allowing you to:
• Grant targeted access to specific teams such as Quality or Purchasing
• Control which item states can be modified
• Update key attributes like compliance or supplier details without changing item states
• Maintain control while still giving the right users flexibility

We also covered how permissions can be layered across user groups and business units, giving more precise control over who can update what within different areas of the business.
