Today marks Beverley’s last day as Administration Manager at Alrad Instruments Ltd, after 5 years of managing customer and supplier relationships and keeping the office running smoothly. We’re sad to say goodbye but so excited for her next adventure (and maybe a little bit jealous), as she’s off to a new life in sunny Southern France! Thank you for everything Beverley, we’ll miss you! Au revoir et bonne chance! ☀️

After nearly 4 years as our Technical Support Manager at Alrad Instruments Ltd, we’re sad to be saying goodbye to Mike Snelling today, but thrilled that he can now start enjoying his retirement travelling around in his campervan/caravan (as yet to be decided)! We marked the occasion with a fabulous tour and team lunch at the Renegade Brewery in Yattendon, with plenty of beer and silly hairnets! Thank you Mike for all your hard work supporting customers, colleagues and the Sales team at exhibitions, you’ll be missed - good luck on your new adventures!

Remembering Doreen Alderton

Our Founding Financial Director passed away peacefully just after dinner on the 11th April 2025, in her care home talking to the staff.

Doreen Alderton – 24th July 1935 to 11th April 2025, just a few months short of her 90th Birthday.

She was the Founder and Financial Director of the company until her retirement and continued to have an interest as Mother of Ian, Gillian and Graham – the next generation and owners at Alrad.

Long-term family employees also include her son-in-law David Cass and her Grandson Michael Cass, the third generation to work at the company, who is our Director of Operations. She also had Jacqueline Scions-Cass MBE, Phoebe and Jasper Alderton as Grandchildren as well as great Grandchildren, Chloe and Lewis Cass and Jessica and Joshua Scions.

She will be missed by us all.

Exciting new product news this month! We’ve recently added 2 new lens series from Kowa Optimed Deutschland GmbH to the Alrad Instruments Ltd imaging product range.

The 75mm and 100mm FC24M Macro lenses feature a minimum object distance of 15cm, making them ideal for intricate applications such as the detailed inspection of small electronic components or medical imaging. The EC-IR lens series offers versatile, high-performance optics with a 1.2” large sensor format and 24MP resolution, ensuring ultra-sharp images in demanding environments like traffic control, machine vision, and geo-mapping.
