As part of the design, plate load testing was required for the proposed construction of a large storage silo. Different diameter plates used and quite substantial loadings of up to 650kPa required, 22t machine lifting ✅.

Plate bearing testing is a relatively quick method to determine material strength characteristics and is still often the preferred in-situ test throughout earthworks and construction l.

Fundamental for gaining an understanding material behaviour under load and typically used for the design of piling mats, crane pads and for baseline foundation assesments.
