Another fantastic training session in the books! ️

We were delighted to welcome the team from Osbit back for another hands-on welding workshop.

Following the success of our previous session, it was great to see another group of Osbit’s Engineers and Project Managers step onto the shop floor and get stuck into the practical demonstrations.

A huge thank you to everyone from Osbit who attended. It’s a pleasure to watch this collaboration continue to go from strength to strength. 🤝

A great afternoon spent with the team from Osbit last week at W.D. Close. 👏

It was great to see so much engagement throughout the practical welding session, with attendees getting involved, asking questions, and gaining valuable hands-on experience from the day.

Opportunities like this are a brilliant way to bring businesses together, share knowledge, and continue developing skills across the industry.

We’re proud to have hosted the session and look forward to building on this even further with more collaborative training opportunities in the future.

The Newcastle College Apprenticeship Awards are tomorrow evening!

The evening provides the opportunity to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and achievements of apprentices across the region, as well as the employers helping to shape the next generation of skilled professionals.

At W.D. Close & Sons, we know how valuable apprenticeships are in building careers, and we’re delighted to support an event that recognises emerging talent in the region.

We’re looking forward to an inspiring evening and celebrating everyone nominated for an award. Best of luck to all finalists! 👏

A great gesture like this deserves the spotlight!

Last month, one of our Health & Safety Champions chose to remain anonymous and, instead, asked for their prize to be donated to charity.

We were proud to support their decision to donate to Anxious Minds , an incredible organisation providing mental health support to those in need across the North East.

It’s an important reminder that health and safety go beyond just our physical wellbeing. Sometimes, it’s about looking after each other’s mental wellbeing too.

Thank you for reminding us all that small actions can make a big difference! 💙

Our team are looking forward to exhibiting at Jobs on the Tyne in June! 👷

Taking place on Friday 5th June, the event brings together employers and job seekers to explore opportunities across key industries, including welding and fabrication.

Our team will be there to chat about current vacancies, apprenticeships, and training pathways, as well as offering insight into what it’s like to be part of our business.

The event will be held in the performance space at Wallsend Library from 10am – 1:30pm, giving you plenty of time to pop in and find out what it’s all about.

So, whether you’re starting out, looking to upskill, or ready for your next move, we’d love to meet you. With over 300 attendees expected, it’s set to be a great event.
