Prices are always lower for larger quantity orders, and stock is held at our premises and is only delivered when called for. This provides great benefit to the customer, as we also monitor stock levels and advise when the remaining quantity is low. This also helps our customers to control their cash flow, as goods are only invoiced when delivered. Elmeridge Cables Limited’s philosophy is based upon understanding our customers’ specialist needs, supported by our detailed consultancy service, and reliable and extensive logistics.

Since 1987, Elmeridge Cables Limited has been proud to supply cables to four of the five main renewable energy groups across many different industries, and in 1994, our team were asked to supply cables and equipment for the Southampton Geothermal energy project in the UK. These are still in use today.

Renewable energy sources are energy derived from natural processes that are replenished at a higher rate than they are consumed. Unlike fossil fuels, which take millions of years to form and are finite, renewable resources are virtually inexhaustible and constantly renewed by nature. These include solar, wind, hydro, geothermal, and biomass.

Solar Energy: The most abundant resource captured using panels to convert sunlight into electricity or heat.

Wind Energy: Utilises turbines to convert the kinetic energy of moving air into electricity, commonly used in onshore and offshore wind farms.

Hydropower: Uses flowing or falling water to drive generators, providing a consistent, controllable energy source.

Geothermal Energy: Harnesses heat from inside the Earth's crust for heating, cooling, or producing electricity.

Biomass Energy: Derived from organic materials like wood, waste, and crops, which can be burned for fuel or converted into biofuels.

Most recently, Elmeridge has been involved in the production and supply of power cables to a UK solar energy farm, onshore and offshore wind farm projects, also supplying to hydropower sources within Europe.

On March 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell famously said to his assistant, "Mr Watson, come here, I want to see you". This was the first telephone call ever made.

There are certain business situations where it is better to speak by phone than send an email. However, choosing between telephone and email depends on the reason, complexity, urgency and sensitivity of the situation, so we wanted to share our thoughts with you since our team have noticed over the last few years that there appears to be a real aversion to speaking on the telephone, particularly in the first instance, with people sending incomplete enquiries by email, often without a telephone number for us to follow up with a call.

While email is useful for non-urgent tasks, queries, and sending attachments, phone calls offer a faster, more personal way to communicate. They eliminate ambiguity and confusion, and speaking directly helps build rapport. All these factors contribute to better outcomes, especially when you don’t know if or when the email has been read. Often, it is more time-consuming to send an email and wait for a response than it is to pick up the telephone.

Elmeridge prides itself on answering your call within three rings and always by a knowledgeable member of the team.

Elmeridge Cables Limited (Elmeridge) have been leaders in the production and distribution of custom-made cables since 1987, supplying a wide range of low, medium and high voltage special cables and stock items to a growing worldwide market.

One of Elmeridge's many strengths is their commitment to cable technology, research and development. For over 38 years Elmeridge has successfully strived to develop more reliable and effective ways to meet the technical and practical demands of their customers.

We have actively been working in Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) cable markets, adding to our voltage range of cables over recent years. We want to reassure our customers that we have in fact been meeting the demands of MV and HV cable production since 1994. Our first order back then was for a 12kV cable, and the team have continued to produce 33kV, 66kV, 132kV and 500kV cables throughout the decades. Elmeridge continue to supply MV and HV cables to the utilities and large electrical contractors throughout the UK. We have even supplied MV and HV cables into Europe.

What is the difference between MV and HV cables?

MV cables use a thinner insulation and smaller conductors they are used primarily for local distribution and would often have some form of armouring and mainly used in urban environments.

HV cables have a thicker insulation and higher grade of shielding for much longer distances of transmission and our typically used for direct burial and submarine usage, linking power to onshore power plants, substations or to the grid.

Our range includes products for the onshore power networks, and subsea cable sector, used widely for renewable energy for offshore windfarms sea to shore power supply.

For all your cable production and distribution enquiries, our knowledgeable team are here to help and support you throughout your project.

Elmeridge Cables Limited have been supplying continuous lengths of a CTD (Conductivity, Temperature, and Depth) cables for the past decade in continuous lengths from 1000 metres up to and including 10,000 metres.

This range of cables are our equivalents to the Rochester range, also known as data logging cables or double-armoured coaxials.

Despite always remaining competitive, without compromising on quality or service, there has never been a better time to buy your CDT cables from Elmeridge. The high tariffs set out by US President Donald Trump means this is an ideal opportunity to buy your cables from Elmeridge at lower rates.

We have supplied our CDT cables to several major international companies, who all tell us they prefer the Elmeridge design of CTD cable. Many of these customers re-order, with complete satisfaction, time after time.

The cables can be supplied as per the original specifications, or with a thin coating of mineral oil on the outer armour layer, which helps to prevent corrosion and minimize slippage on the winch. Elmeridge use PP (Polypropylene) instead of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene), which guarantees greater flexibility, longevity and eliminates hardening and cracking, so that the cable lasts longer in service, with no changes to the electrical characteristics.

To find out more about our custom-made CTD cables, please call +44 (0)1273 391810 or send your enquiry to [email protected].

Since 1987 Elmeridge Cables Limited have been supplying custom-made cables to the satellite and aerospace sectors.

Satellites have a variety of scientific, civilian and military uses, including communication, meteorology, navigation (GPS), broadcast, research, observation, reconnaissance, intelligence, and early warning.

These applications are developed and built by a number of companies and government agencies around the world, with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) being a leading organisation, closely supported by the European Space Agency (ESA).

The early years of space exploration was driven by the space race between the Soviet Union and the United States in 1957, and whilst Elmeridge hadn’t yet been launched, the team are proud to have played their part in supporting the supply chain over the decades.
