This morning, we wanted to show our appreciation to the teams working across both our M Group and Network Plus contracts by treating everyone to breakfast at the yard.

The recent spell of hot weather has made an already demanding job even more challenging, but our workforce has continued to work tirelessly, maintaining the highest standards of service and professionalism. We couldn’t be prouder of the commitment and hard work shown by every member of the team.

A huge thank you to all of our employees and subcontractors for everything you do – your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.

We’d also like to give a special shout-out to steve at Biffs kitchen for bringing the breakfast van down at such short notice and knocking up over 70 breakfast rolls. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Last week, KM Group took delivery of 2 brand new 5-ton excavators and 3 new tipper vans, further strengthening our fleet as we continue to support multiple contracts across South Wales and Herefordshire.

Investing in modern, reliable plant and vehicles ensures our teams have the equipment they need to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality work for our clients. As our workload continues to grow, these additions will help us maintain the high standards of service that KM Group is known for.

⭐ MEET THE TEAM ⭐

This weeks meet the team bring us on to Gareth who joined KM Group in November 2021, beginning his journey as part of a two-man excavation team delivering water repair and maintenance works. In this role, he developed a strong understanding of the water network, safe excavation practices, and delivering high-quality work in a customer-focused environment.

In late 2023, Gareth progressed into the role of Metering Surveyor, working independently to survey customer stop taps and assess metering requirements across the network. His reliability, technical knowledge, and ability to work autonomously quickly made him a valued member of the team.

As the contract continued to grow, Gareth’s leadership qualities and commitment to maintaining high standards were recognised. In April 2025, he was promoted to Surveying Supervisor, where he now leads and supports a team of 10 Metering Surveyors. In his current role, Gareth is responsible for overseeing daily operations, mentoring the survey team, ensuring quality and compliance, and helping to deliver excellent service to both clients and customers.

Gareth’s career at KM Group demonstrates his dedication, adaptability, and commitment to personal development, progressing from frontline operational work to a key leadership position within the business.

⭐ MEET THE TEAM ⭐

Amie initially started her career at KM as a Quality and Compliance Administrator. With her exceptional knowledge in Business Administration, it wasn’t long before she moved on to become apart of the Commercial Administration team.

Whilst in her commercial role, through her peer’s she developed a passion for Transport Compliance and was offered the opportunity to shadow the logistics team and eventually transition into a full-time Transport Compliance Coordinator role.

Amie would take the lead on auditing fleet safety standards and operator license compliance and co-manage the company’s Operator Licence requirements, blending her commercial knowledge with strict regulatory standards.

She has recently spent over 20 hours in the class room completing OLAT and a Transport Manager Practitioners Course, KM will now guide Amie in her future studies for her Transport Manager CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) to officially certify her expertise and become a Transport Manager.

Courtney joined KM Group in March this year as our Commercial Administrator Assistant and has quickly become a valued member of the team.

Bringing with her a wealth of commercial administration experience, Courtney previously held two long-term positions with established companies, where she developed strong organisational, communication, and administrative skills. Her extensive background has enabled her to transition seamlessly into her role at KM Group and make an immediate positive impact.

Since joining the business, Courtney has demonstrated a proactive approach, a keen attention to detail, and a strong commitment to supporting the commercial team. She has settled into the company exceptionally well, building great relationships with colleagues and embracing the challenges and opportunities of her new role.

Tomos joined KM Group in July 2021 as a Dig Labourer working on the Water Repair & Maintenance (R&M) contract. From the outset, he demonstrated a strong work ethic, commitment to safety, and a willingness to learn every aspect of the operation.

Through his dedication and leadership potential, Tomos quickly progressed within the business. Just six months after joining the company, he was promoted to Ganger, taking responsibility for his own two-man team. In this role, he successfully managed day-to-day site activities, ensuring work was completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while developing his leadership and operational skills.

Over the following years, Tomos continued to build his experience and knowledge of the Water R&M contract, earning the respect of colleagues, supervisors, and clients alike. His ability to lead teams, solve problems, and consistently deliver results made him a standout member of the operation.

In January 2025, Tomos achieved another significant career milestone when he was promoted to Dig Supervisor. In this position, he now oversees ten operational teams across the same Water R&M contract where he began his journey. His responsibilities include coordinating works, supporting team performance, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring excellent service delivery for the client.

Tomos’ progression from Dig Labourer to Dig Supervisor in less than four years is a testament to his hard work, determination, and commitment to continuous improvement. His career journey reflects the opportunities available within KM Group for individuals who demonstrate dedication, leadership, and a desire to succeed.

Maddison joined KM Group in November 2024 as part of the Commercial Administration team based in Abergavenny. From the outset, she quickly became a valued member of the team, bringing enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong willingness to learn. Her positive attitude and commitment to supporting day-to-day operations helped her build strong relationships across the business.

During her time within the commercial admin team, Maddison developed a solid understanding of the company’s processes and demonstrated excellent organisational and communication skills. Her dedication and ability to adapt made her a natural fit for progression within the business.

In January 2026, Maddison transferred to KM Group’s regional depot in Abertillery to take on the role of Training Coordinator and compliance assistant. In this position, she continues to play an important part in supporting operational development and employee training across the region. Gareth – Dig Operations Manager

Gareth joined KM Group in 2015, beginning his career as a dig labourer on a major water rehabilitation project in Bristol. From the outset, he demonstrated a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn, quickly becoming a valued member of the team.

Following his success in Bristol, Gareth progressed into a Team Leader role on a similar water rehabilitation project in Leicester, where he developed his leadership skills and gained extensive experience managing site operations, crews, and project delivery.

He then moved on to oversee teams on a water repair and maintenance contract in Wales, spending five years leading operational activities across the region. During this time, Gareth built a reputation for delivering high standards of safety, productivity, and customer service while successfully managing complex day-to-day operations in demanding environments.

In recognition of his dedication and leadership, Gareth was promoted to Supervisor, taking on greater responsibility for operational performance, workforce management, and project coordination.

Most recently, Gareth has achieved another significant milestone in his career with his promotion to Dig Operations Manager. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing dig operations across the business, supporting teams on the ground, driving operational excellence, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
