We are extremely proud to have donated over 2000 visors to local NHS and Care home workers, thanks to the generosity of local people 🏩🌈

In an effort to help support local people and businesses as we begin to return to work, we have put our decades of design and engineering experience into action. As a result we have created a new face visor fully compliant with Government and WHO guidelines regarding PPE. Which can be seen in the attached photos.

Key features include:
-CE marked PPE cat 1
-Lightweight design
-Neoprene foam padding for comfort
-Fully adjustable elastic head band for maximum customisation
-PVC material for anti fogging with an air vent design
-Designed and manufactured in the UK
-Made from recycled plastic and is recyclable and biodegradable.

We've had such a busy week and are so grateful to everyone who has shared our post, commented and donated on our go fund me page. This amazing generosity has allowed us to deliver over 500 Face shields to our amazing frontline services, across South wales. Another 1000 are in production for delivery this coming week, with an increase in our capacity to make over 100 per day.

If you know anyone who would benefit from our face shields, please do share or tag them and we will do our best to help.

We are truly overwhelmed by all the comments we have received, and in addition to this a heartfelt mention to all the amazing donations we have received in support our production efforts.

We have been inundated with requests from hospitals, care facilities and nursing homes to name a few. We are a small 3D printing firm, with a limited resource, so have set up this donations page to give us a chance of meeting the requests we have recieved in a timely manner. LayerTech3D is a small 3D printing business. Like everyone else, we want to do anything we can to support the NHS and the most vulnerable in the fight against covid-19. We have put our printers to work creating PPE for anyone that needs it, at no cost to them. We are based in Newport which is the worst affected area in Wales with the highest case and death rates.

We have been inundated with requests of masks and ear protectors from hospitals, care facilities and nursing homes to name a few. This is why we need your help. We currently have 3 printers on production, 2 belonging to the company and 1 that is my Dad's hobby printer, however this isn't enough to keep up with the current demand. We can currently print around 250 of the shield masks a week but we already have requests in excess of 300 for this week alone.

Thus far we have funded this support effort entirely ourselves including the printing filament, acetate, assembly equipment, electricity and time for assembly and delivery. Our aim is to expand our facilities to increase our production capacity and fund the acquisition of materials from pla to the acetate to complete the masks, the latter of which is becoming difficult to source. Please support us in any way you can.

Great privilege for us today having delivered our first Face Shields directly to NHS frontline staff working Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. We also need to give a special mention to Minuteman Press Newport for donating 500 acetate sheets, Ray James and 3DVerkstan for the design.
Working together locally to protect the NHS.

📢Can you help? 🏥

We have created hundreds of visors as protective equipment for NHS workers and carers on the frontline in the fight against COVID-19. We want to provide these locally and fully assmeble them for immediate dispatch to hospitals in South East Wales.
We're running short on A4 Acetate sheets, with a thickness minimum of 100 microns.
