Dip Coating in Thermoplastic Powders

The dipping of metal components into Thermoplastic powders more commonly known as Fluidised Bed dipping, as it is sometimes known,
Thermoplastic coating material is ground into a fine powder and kept in a Fluid Bed Box. Air is then introduced up through and makes the powder particles rise and act like a box of fluid, hence 'Fluidised Bed'. Metal components ar

e pre-treated, usually degreased and shot blasted, heated up to between 250 and 400 degrees C depending upon the coating required, then dipped into the Fluid Bed of plastic. The Powder particles melt onto the metalwork forming a smooth continuous coating.

•Thicker coatings (0.3mm up to 1.00mm)
•Smooth continuous coating
•Very long service life
•Extreme corrosion resistance
•Excellent chemical resistance
•Good Edge(metal) coverage
•Excellent UV and weather resistance
•Non-toxic coatings. Requirements for various finishes may be:
•Sharp Edge coverage
•Anti-squeak
•Noise reduction
•Dry Lubrication
•Wear resistance
•Corrosion resistance
•Electrical insulation



Typical components can be anything metal including items such as:
•Upholstery Clips
•Electrical Cable Clips
•Seat Belt Anchor Plates
•Striker Loops
•Automotive Seat Springs
•Suspension Springs
•Weld Clips
