Online we see so many people doing well.
Don't let that get you down.
Don't compare yourself to everyone else, that's a recipe for disaster...

we all came down different roads, at different times, with different perspectives.

so don't copy someone else and then wonder why you're not as good.
just be true to your journey and be different.

at least then you know no one will be doing you as well as you do.

HELP ‼️ I need a holiday that doesn’t break the bank or my back...

I’ve been thinking about next year, and I’d love to go somewhere nice with my girlfriend, my dad and stepmum.

The thing is, I can’t sit on a plane for 10 hours. My back and my height just don’t mix well with those cramped seats. And I know I'm not alone in this!

So I’m after ideas... somewhere not too far away, easy to get to, but still feels like a proper break.
Bit of sun, good food, and time with family.

Where would you go? 👇
(From Bristol airport)

Thanks,

Have you ever noticed how social media makes you feel like you’ve got to be rich to be happy?
Big houses, flash cars, all that stuff people show off, like that’s what success means...

But the truth is, that’s never been it for me.

If I had all the money in the world, I’d still be doing exactly what I do now.
Covered in dust, trowel in hand, doing something I actually enjoy.

Plastering gives me something money can’t.
Freedom. Peace. Pride.

I can work inside or outside, depending on the season.
And every job feels like a fresh challenge, a new chance to chase that perfect finish.

And when you get it right… it’s tempting to sign it. It feels like a piece of art when it’s done properly.

That’s what makes me feel rich.
Not cars, not money, not clubs.

Just knowing I’ve built something with my own two hands... Something I’m proud of.

That’s real success to me.
And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

How do they keep getting away with it…

I’m honestly getting horrified seeing this happen.
Time and time again, good people are handing over their hard-earned money… only to be left with shoddy work that ruins their homes.

This was a child's room. Imagine if it fell on him...

It’s devastating. And I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had to put things like this right.

If you’re thinking about getting work done in your home, here are a few things that will send the cowboys running 🤠🏃:

Trust your gut. If you don’t feel comfortable with the person giving you a price, don’t hand them a deposit.

Ask to see proof. Visit a job they’re currently working on or one they’ve just finished.

Get 3+ quotes. If someone is way more expensive (or way cheaper), ask why.

Check reviews yourself. Look at their Google reviews — not just the ones they show you.

Do these 4 things and you’ll give yourself a much better chance of finding a decent, reputable tradesman who respects your home.

Don’t let your house be scarred for life.

If you know someone about to get work done, tag them below — it could save them thousands.

Hope this helps.

My life has not always been great.
At 11 me and my dad had to leave home and stay with friends, no fault of his own. Just life doesn't always work out for you the way you plan and I definitely saw that at a young age.

Look, I don't want to spew my whole life story to you cause I don't think it's really relevant here but my point is that even though for a while it was just me and my dad, he still raised me so well, I'm 22 starting to realize how far I've came since I was 11, worried where we was going to go, to now.

I'd never be here without all of his hard work to put me on the right path but I can never explain how much this man's done.

To be honest with you I couldn't be happier with my life, I've got an amazing partner of 4 years, a little dog called hugo together, both got exciting career paths and are eager to get out into the world and make our mark.

The main reason for this post is to just say that it's not always a smooth journey, and it's not always a short journey. But you will get there. I'm very fortunate to be where I am today with the people I am. But it wasn't always rainbows and butterflies...

Don't make this mistake!

Something my customers always ask me is ...
“Matt why do you wet the wall down so much before putting a new coat of lime render on?”

It’s not because I love water fights, although I wouldn’t say no to one on a hot day.

Truth is lime is a very porous material, and if the wall is bone dry it will pull the water straight out of the fresh mix before it has even had a chance to get ruled off or floated. That is what we call flash drying and it is a surefire way to end up with weak render and those annoying little hairline cracks. It is easily one of the most common mistakes people make when they work with lime.

By soaking the wall first I slow that process right down, I control how fast the mix sets, allowing me to work with precision and exercise good techniques. It gives the coat time to bond properly and carbonate which means a stronger longer lasting finish for your property.

So next time you see me with the hose pouring, I promise I am not messing about. I am making sure the job is done properly ✅

Many thanks,
