Worth a share for a brilliant local cause 👍
We’ve supported the River Cree Hatchery & Habitat Trust for a while now, sponsoring tanks and helping out with various wee jobs whenever we can.
They do a huge amount of work behind the scenes to help protect and restore our wild salmon populations on the River Cree and beyond, as well as getting local children involved and educating the next generation about our rivers and wildlife.
It’s also something pretty close to home for us, with my dad heavily involved with the hatchery and the work they do.
They’ve got this cracking competition running at the minute, with all proceeds going back into the Trust.

Finishing the week in Stranraer with this large 20ft × 12ft timber garage.
Plenty of space inside, wide double doors and clear roof panels letting in loads of natural light.
A fair bit of timber in this one, but a good day getting it all installed and finished off. That’s another busy week wrapped up!

30+ft of picket fencing installed yesterday morning… quick coffee ☕ and straight onto this one.
A busy afternoon in Minnigaff getting this 10x8 summerhouse installed.
The anthracite windows and doors against the natural timber really set this one off 👌
Now the question…
Would you keep it natural with a clear oil coat, or go for a painted finish? 👇

Due to our continued workload, S.C. Joinery & Landscaping is looking for a reliable, hardworking person to join our growing team.
The position is based in Newton Stewart and will involve a mixture of workshop and site-based work throughout Dumfries & Galloway.
The role will include:
• Manufacturing and installing sheds and summerhouses
• Garden rooms, decking and fencing
• Workshop preparation and loading
• General joinery and landscaping work
We take great pride in the quality of our work, so attention to detail is extremely important. We’re looking for someone who works well as part of a team, takes responsibility for their work and maintains a consistently high standard.
Previous joinery, construction or landscaping experience would be an advantage. However, the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are just as important.

Busy morning for us in port william getting this large storage shed and covered mud kitchen delivered and installed 👍
Then back to the workshop to get ready for next week's builds .

Another summerhouse & storage combo completed 🔨
A smaller version of a similar building we completed previously, adapted to suit the space available in this garden.
This one combines a bright timber-lined summerhouse with a separate storage section — giving the customer somewhere to enjoy the garden without losing the practicality of a shed.
Finished with anthracite PVC doors and windows, plenty of glazing and natural timber cladding.
Built to suit the customer, the garden and how the space will actually be used.

Another decking project complete 👌
A great transformation around this lodge, creating a much more usable outdoor space and making the most of the surrounding views.
We’ve incorporated a large raised seating area, glass balustrading to keep the outlook as open as possible, timber railing, access steps and a gated entrance.
Really pleased with how this one has come together — a cracking spot to sit out when the Galloway weather behaves itself! ☀️
All constructed using treated timber and built on site to suit the lodge and existing ground levels.

While waiting on materials arriving today, I put together a few of these handcrafted premium timber planters.
Built using 16mm redwood TGV cladding, a solid 2x2 timber frame and a treated decking slat base, they're designed to be strong, durable and built to last.
Available with the option of a protective oil finish and internal liner, making them ready for planting straight away.
A simple but high-quality addition to any garden. 🌿

This one was built with security and longevity in mind from the very beginning. A simple-looking building on the outside, but there's a lot of work hidden beneath the cladding.
Finished in a smart anthracite colour with a bright plywood-lined interior, lighting, electrics and plenty of practical storage to keep everything organised.
We really enjoy building projects like these. Taking an idea and turning it into something that's solid, practical and built to stand the test of time is what it's all about.
