Our EV is charging away off the excess solar and charging at 2.5kW per hour. It may not be a fast charge but at this rate the car is getting 10 miles of range added each hour....over the course of the day our car should get 60 miles of range added thanks to solar.

They say you should make hay while the sun shines. At Eeco we say charge your EV while the sun shines. We are taking advantage of the sunny weather and charging our EV with the excess solar coming from our staff member's home array.
This week by charging for a few hours each day they have added about 50kW over the week equating to about 180 miles...that pure, clean, green renewable energy.....and all for free.

Thanks to this lovely weather one of our customers with 14 panels (8 SE and 6 NW) has generated 169kW of energy, consumed 75kW and exported the rest back to the grid for which they will receive about 11ppkW.
Without their solar this 75kW usage would otherwise cost about £23.00 and they would miss out on £10.00 worth of export revenue. Instead with their solar they spent a tad over £2 (off which the majority is the daily standing charge) and have thus saved £31...not bad eh?

Still thinking solar isnt worth it here in NI? One of our teams home 8 panel system generated over 15 kWh of free electricity yesterday and only cost them 21p. It feels pretty good to power the house for basically the price of a Freddo (if they even still cost that much). 🍫⚡️

This is one of our staff member's system performance to 1pm today with a basic 8 panel system orientated SE
🌞 Almost 10kW of electricity generated
🌞 8.59kW consumed (smart charging their EV)
🌞 Only 0.14kW consumed
