Cloned plates… a heavy goods problem!
Yesterday, Road Policing Interceptors from Sprucefield stopped this DAF HGV in the Ballymena area, the vehicle was displaying the registration of another vehicle of a similar make and model to conceal its true identity.
The twist? Both the clone and genuine vehicles belong to the same company.
Behind the wheel was the company director, whose HGV driving licence had been revoked by DVA on medical grounds.
Checks also revealed:
-No current Driver CPC
-No vehicle insurance
-A Goods Vehicle Certificate that expired nearly THREE years ago
-No operator’s licence in force
-No Tachograph in use
Vehicle seized.
A different number plate doesn’t make the problem disappear.
