Get your boilers serviced. Some boilers have faults specific to their make and model. Having been a technical engineer for British Gas for 16 years, i’ve serviced 1000s of boiler and know just what to look out for.

This glowworm looked ok, but on further inspection I found the flue collector leaking. If left for too long the integrity of the boiler would have been compromised, and a new boiler would have been required.

So for the sake of a £50 service, you could save yourself £1000s.

A big messy job yesterday installing one of our designer rads.
I had the chase the walls to upgrade the piping to the rad.
Once it re plastered, new skirting boards and re painted it will look a million dollars.

Can’t recommend filters highly enough. If you have a modern boiler the water ways are extremely small compared to older boilers. Great for heat transfer but unfortunately they are prone to blockages.

A filter will slowly remove any sludge from the system and hopefully prevent blockages. If you have a filter it’s important that the engineer cleans it on every service visit.

😷 dusty one this morning.
The customer wanted a new rad fitted on the opposite wall. As plastic pipe had previously been used I decided we would add the additional pipe work in plastic but I can do copper if required.

I managed to channel the pipe nicely behind the the skirting boards to prevent too much hassle for the plasterer to patch up.

After 3 clean ups there was almost no sign of any dust and the radiator heated up lovely for when the cold weather arrives hopefully in 6 months time 😀.

Can anyone see the pigeon??

Today I managed to get this pigeon freed after it had fell down the flue and became trapped behind the fire.

I caught it before it was able to fly around the house and redecorated the room in soot 😀😀

After a small drink it flew off.
