Meet Freddie Henley-Hunter 👋

Freddie started his career at Ladbrook UK on the factory floor, learning welding and getting stuck into different areas of manufacturing.

Since then, he’s worked through roles in the tool room and press setting before becoming our Production Manager.

He now helps keep production moving and supports the team to make sure everything runs as it should.

We’re proud to have Freddie as part of the team.

It’s Vocational Celebration Day 🔧

A chance to celebrate the skills, experience, and people that keep industries like manufacturing moving.

Our Operations Manager, AJ Johnson, is a great example of how a career can grow in manufacturing.

AJ joined Ladbrook UK at 18 while studying at college and started on the factory floor. Since then, he’s worked across different areas of the business before becoming Operations Manager.

His journey through a vocational pathway shows that with the right attitude and willingness to learn, there are lots of opportunities to succeed.

Sheet metal work might look like it’s all machines and processes, but it really comes down to the people running it. 🤝

From planning jobs through to production and inspection, there’s a whole team involved at different stages.

A good example of that journey is our Operations Manager, AJ, who started here at 18 while still at college.

Since then, he’s worked across the factory floor, administration, senior buying, and now looks after operations, planning, and customer and supplier relationships.

That kind of hands-on experience, along with a strong team around him, helps keep everything running smoothly day-to-day.

It’s International Self-Care Day 💙

A good reminder that how you feel day-to-day makes a big difference - both at work and outside of it.

In manufacturing, there’s always plenty going on, so balance and support really matter.

It’s about making sure people have the time and headspace to do their work well.

Our 4-day working week has been a big part of that, giving the team more time to rest, reset, and properly switch off.

Outside of work, the team get up to all sorts - from cricket, carp fishing, football and rugby, to playing the ukulele and restoring classic cars.

Our sheet metal process is really just a team effort from start to finish. 🔧

It starts with a flat sheet coming in, then we cut it to shape - either on the laser or punch, depending on what the part needs.

Then we move into folding on the press brakes, shaping it into the right angles.

After that, it goes into welding and fabrication, where everything gets brought together into a finished part. 🔥

It’s a simple process, but each step has to be done right for it all to come together at the end.
