There was plenty of laughter, friendly competition and community spirit at our Northampton Head Office as colleagues came together to celebrate Red Nose Day 🎈

From “pin the red nose” to egg and spoon races, cup stacking challenges, a retro round of Pac-Man, Tombola's and even the all-important “guess the sweets in the jar” — the day was packed with fun. Of course, no fete would be complete without a fantastic selection of home-baked treats, generously made and enjoyed across the team 🍰

Together, colleagues raised an amazing £257 in support of Comic Relief — a brilliant achievement for a very worthy cause.

At Forterra, supporting our communities and making a positive impact is a key part of our core strategy. Through initiatives like our Local Charity Initiative Scheme, we’re proud to empower colleagues and communities to support causes that matter most — whether through fundraising, volunteering or direct project support. Events like this reflect not only our commitment to social responsibility, but also the strong sense of teamwork and culture we’re proud to build every day.

A big thank you to everyone who took part, donated, baked, and helped organise such a fantastic event 👏

This week marks Neurodiversity Celebration Week, a global initiative that promotes greater understanding and appreciation of the different ways people think, learn and work.

At Forterra, inclusion and respect for people sit at the heart of our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments. We recognise that we are at the early stages of our journey in developing our awareness and understanding of Neurodiversity, and this week provides an important opportunity to reflect and continue building inclusive thinking into how we operate as a business.

Over the coming months, we will be exploring ways to:

· increase awareness and understanding of Neurodiversity

· review relevant policies and approaches

· consider how we can better support Neurodivergent colleagues across our organisation

This work will form part of our ongoing commitment to creating a respectful, supportive workplace, where different perspectives are valued and people are able to perform at their best, for the benefit of our colleagues, customers, suppliers and the communities we serve.

“This is where your fundraising goes.”

It’s something we say a lot when we support charities.

But seeing it in real life is something else entirely.

Earlier this year, colleagues across Forterra raised an incredible £44,526 for our corporate charity partner, Cancer Research UK

Recently, two of our team had the chance to see the impact of that support first-hand during a visit to the charity’s research laboratories at the University of Birmingham.

Inside the lab, they met scientists working on the front line of cancer research.

They learned how researchers are using protein markers to understand which treatments may work best for individual patients.

They heard about work focused on reducing diagnosis times for brain tumours - something that could make a life-changing difference for patients and their families.

And yes… there was even a chance to extract DNA from a strawberry. 🍓

But the biggest takeaway wasn’t the experiment.

It was the reminder that every fundraiser really does matter.

Every raffle ticket.
Every charity challenge.
Every event organised by colleagues.

All of it contributes to the work being done by Cancer Research UK, an organisation that invested hundreds of millions of pounds into research across the UK in 2024/25 alone.

Seeing that work up close reinforces why partnerships like this matter.

Because behind every pound raised is the potential for a breakthrough that could change someone’s life.

We’re incredibly proud of the effort our colleagues have made and proud to support research that gives hope to so many families.

🔥 The Journey Continues at Wilnecote

Another important step forward at our redeveloped Wilnecote factory - the first red bricks are now making their way through the final stages before firing.

In our latest update, you can see the bricks leaving the drying chamber and being carefully set onto kiln cars, ready for their first journey through our brand-new kiln. It’s an exciting sight and a real sign that this £30 million redevelopment is coming to life.

After months of commissioning and testing, seeing product flow smoothly through the new plant is a proud moment for everyone involved. The upgraded dryers, handling systems and kiln technology are designed to improve efficiency, expand our product capability, and support more sustainable brickmaking for the future.

The heat hasn’t been applied just yet, but we’re almost there.

Next stop: first firing 🔥

Texture. Colour. Finish.

These are the details that elevate a building from functional to unforgettable.

We’re proud to showcase a recent collaboration that demonstrates the design potential of Cradley Special Bricks. Artist Nicola Atkinson from Beautiful Materials created a bespoke ‘Vessel’ pattern as part of a conceptual exploration for a project in West Lothian, Scotland and our teams helped bring that vision into physical form.

Using Forterra’s advanced 3D printing capabilities, our technical team developed precision moulds, working alongside the specialist expertise at Cradley. Josh Dempsey, Product Technical Support & Design Advisor, played a key role in designing the 3D plastic mould/press that allowed the clay to be thrown and pressed with exceptional definition. The result? A beautifully articulated surface that captures depth, shadow and movement within the brick itself.

This project highlights what makes Cradley Special Bricks unique:

✔ True bespoke capability
✔ Detailed surface articulation
✔ Freedom to explore pattern and texture
✔ A wide spectrum of colour and finish options

Brick is often viewed as a standard product - but in the right hands, it becomes a design tool. Through texture, colour and finish, bespoke brickwork can completely transform an ordinary façade into something extraordinary.

At Forterra, we don’t just manufacture bricks - through the craftsmanship and specialist expertise of our Cradley Special Bricks team, we collaborate to realise creative ambition.

If you’re looking to push the boundaries of what brick can achieve, let’s start the conversation. https://buff.ly/UQNuzkx

So what makes an apprenticeship at Forterra different?

Ask our apprentices, and one word comes up again and again: support.

Support from experienced colleagues who take the time to share their knowledge.
Support from managers who genuinely want apprentices to succeed.
And structured training that combines practical, on-the-job learning with recognised qualifications.

Our apprentices talk about:
🔧 Gaining confidence with tools and equipment they’d never used before
📐 Learning CAD, electrical and mechanical skills side by side
📈 Seeing clear progression and long-term career opportunities
🤝 Feeling part of a team from day one

For many, this wasn’t just about choosing a qualification — it was about choosing a future they could be proud of. One that’s hands-on, rewarding, and full of opportunity.

Whether you’re just starting out, changing direction, or looking for a practical route into engineering and manufacturing, an apprenticeship at Forterra can be the start of something big.

We’re incredibly proud of our apprentices — not just for what they’re learning, but for who they’re becoming along the way. 💪

It’s National Apprenticeship Week, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by hearing directly from the people living it every day. 🙌

Across Forterra, our apprentices are learning real skills, taking on responsibility, and growing in confidence - both on site and in themselves.

From earning while learning and gaining hands-on experience, to developing lifelong skills like time management, teamwork, problem-solving and adaptability, our apprentices are proving that learning doesn’t just happen in a classroom.

💬 “I’m now completing jobs more efficiently and don’t need as much help — it showed me I was really growing.” - Olaf Malik
💬 “Being trusted with responsibility, even under supervision, has allowed me to apply what I’ve learned in real situations. This has helped me become more confident.” - Zak Comfort
💬 “Learning from experienced people on site has helped kickstart my journey and build my confidence.” - Lachlan Barnes

Yes, there are challenges, including new environments, new responsibilities, balancing work and study, but time and again our apprentices tell us it’s those very challenges that have helped them grow the most.

This week, we’re proud to shine a light on their journeys, their progress, and the hard work they put in every day. 👏

💬 Time to Talk Day at Forterra

Today is Time to Talk Day, a reminder that conversations about mental health matter and that simply checking in can make a real difference.

At Forterra, we’re proud to be a supportive employer where colleagues are encouraged to pause, talk and look after their wellbeing. Across our sites today (and throughout the week), teams are coming together in different ways, including:

🧠 Lunch & Learn sessions focused on Stress Awareness
🤝 Drop-in sessions with our dedicated Mental Health First Aiders
☕ Relaxed ‘Time to Talk’ spaces, with refreshments, giving colleagues the chance to slow down and have an open conversation

There’s no pressure, no agenda - just time, space and support.

We know that creating a workplace where people feel heard, supported and valued isn’t a one-day thing. It’s something we’re committed to every day.

🧱 A New Era of Brickmaking at Wilnecote

It’s an exciting time at Forterra as we near the completion of our £30 million redevelopment of the Wilnecote factory in Staffordshire.

This investment has seen the transformation of one of our most established sites into a state-of-the-art, energy-efficient facility, complete with a brand-new kiln, dryers and automated handling equipment. Once fully operational, Wilnecote will produce a wider range of specification-grade bricks, whilst reducing carbon emissions per brick by around 25% when compared to our previous factory.

Final commissioning is currently underway, and we’re just days away from a major milestone – the first red bricks entering the new kiln.

Wilnecote has a proud history, and this project has ensured it has an equally bright future. Over the coming weeks we'll not only see the firing of the first reds in the new kiln but also the return of the famous Staffordshire Blues!

🩷 £44,526 raised for Cancer Research UK – powered by our people 🩷

We’re pleased to share that Forterra colleagues raised £22,462 for Cancer Research UK in 2025, which the business was proud to match, bringing the total donation to £44,526.

This incredible result was driven by fundraising efforts across the business, including the 534-mile Beaune Challenge cycling across France, our Forterra Christmas Raffle, the head office honesty-box tuck shop and many individual initiatives.

Recently, we welcomed Gemma Kitching from Cancer Research UK, who received the official cheque from our People Director, Sarah Renton, recognising the collective effort behind this achievement.

So, what difference will this support make?

🔬 Helps fund research into major cancer types including breast, lung, bowel, and childhood cancers
🧪 Supports scientists and laboratories uncovering how cancer starts, grows and responds to treatment
🚀 Accelerates new tests, treatments and technologies into clinical trials faster

Together, contributions like ours help Cancer Research UK outsmart cancer sooner.
