0 HOURS MOSTLY WEEKENDS WITH OCCASIONAL MIDWEEK. 
Didn’t think I’d be writing this post again quite so soon but here we go again. Have a read and if you make it to the end and you think you can put up with the job (and me) then get in touch. If you think we are unreasonable or unrealistic then trot on 👋🏼 because my patience is non existent.
The job…
This is a rail company. Therefore, you will be expected to work on the railway. The position is for a zero hours Mobile Plant Fitter. We cover the whole country day and night, 365 days a year and yes, that also means Christmas Day.
This position needs a PTS qualification, which we as a company are happy to put you through. We will also pay for any medicals and drug and alcohol testing that you need in order to work on the railway. Unless of course by some miracle you already have a valid PTS then read no further and just apply.

The work you will be primarily carrying out will be taking place at weekends. If that’s an issue, then this job is not for you. We have plenty of work to keep you busy, but if you don’t want to work and just want to get paid a healthy hourly rate to sit in your van and complain, then move on. Of you live in the pub, or have regular other weekend commitments then this is not for you. On that note I do not expect you to work every weekend but I do expect a large chunk of your availability because you are applying for a position that is advertised as mostly weekends.
Full rail PPE will be supplied, however due to recent experiences you will need to supply your own van. 
Also you will have to provide your own tools and I do not mean a Halfords tool chest because my nine-year-old daughter has one of those. You will need a vast array of tools, both power and hand to be able to complete the job to a satisfactory standard. 
Shifts within this industry are normally either 8 hour, 10 hour, or 12 hour shifts. We are based in Norfolk and a lot of our work is primarily London area so don’t be surprised if you get sent to a job 2 1/2 hours away. Regular hotel stays are non-negotiable as we operate a 14 hour door-to-door as per network rail standards. 
We are a RISQS audited company, which means we have to follow the rules and regulations put in place. Therefore, that means that any mechanical experience that is not certified will not be taken into consideration depending on age. This is not my decision but the decision of the hierarchy of which we have to prove our staff’s copetance. Unfortunately the fact that you worked for your dad‘s uncle‘s neighbours goldfish for two years is not suitable for this position.
Finally, I will not be listing the hourly rate. Every time I have listed a job advert and included the hourly rate the world and their wife apply for the job thinking that they can do it. Unfortunately, it’s really not that simple so if you feel like you would be a good applicant for this job, then come and have an interview and I will fill-in any gaps questions and the hourly rate in person.
