Continuing with our groundwork theme at the moment. We had a customer that needed a hard core base prepared for a static caravan. The area was dug out, followed by Type 1.

Now for the great pouring! The concrete oversite was laid using the concrete lorry pump and floated.

After the hardcore, sheets of DPM (damp proof membrane) were laid to prevent dampness occurring prior to the pouring of the concrete.

So to continue with our own project - following on from the removal of the concrete and soil from the ground floor. We have now laid 150ml of hardcore and wacker plated it down. This is now ready for the DPM to be laid.

On to the garden; we have just had a new fence installed by A bit of planting will soften it but it's looking really smart thank you!

Now on to the ground floor. The cottage was floor originally laid using concrete on a bed of bricks and thin polythene. The polythene had broken down over the years allowing the damp to come through. So we had all hands on deck to dig up the floor, remove the old concrete and soil. We are still in the process of this. A new floor will be laid in the next few days including proper damp proofing, insulation and under floor heating. More to come on this one!

So a little more progress on our own project, we have rooms! The stud walls are now complete along with most of the first fix electrics and plumbing. The insulation is being installed along with the last of plasterboarding.

A garage conversion for one of our customers progressing nicely. Showing various stages of the interior being insulated and plasterboarded out. Then the installation of the French doors, out in to the garden.
