We are delighted to see how well Isabel Norwood (Izzie) has settled into life at A F Howland Associates since joining us as a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer in August.
Izzie has taken to the role of Graduate Geotechnical Engineer like a duck to water. A Geology graduate from the University of Leicester, Izzie has already demonstrated a keen aptitude for geological interpretation, including reviewing geological maps, developing ground models, and logging a wide variety of strata. This week alone, she has enjoyed examining some impressive ammonite fossils recovered from Oxford Clay core samples during rotary borehole investigations. Izzie has also successfully completed her CSCS and AW training and is looking forward to attending a soil logging course with Equipe Training later this week to further strengthen the in-house training she has already received. We are delighted with the progress Izzie has made in such a short time and she is already proving to be a valuable member of the team.
We also asked Izzie for her thoughts on her first month with us:
‘In the past month since joining A F Howland Assosiates, I have had the opportunity to gain a range of new skills and knowledge on site, as well as in the office. On site I have carried out DCPs, Water monitoring, as well as observing window sampling and perc tests. In the office I have learnt how to enter logs into our Geodasy software and gained experience reviewing technical reports. I have also participated in training with both James Davies and James Ryan, whilst shadowing Seeraj Gohil on site. I have thoroughly enjoyed my first month with AF Howland Assosiates and look forward to the future!’
We look forward to supporting her continued development and seeing her build a successful career with A F Howland Associates!
