A few quick progress shots of our project in Holme-Next-The-Sea which is nearing completion…. Exciting times for the whole Team and our Client!

So last Thursday evening we had the pleasure of attending the 2025 Design & Craftsmanship Awards with Hudson Architects, regarding the stunning Coastal Cottage project we completed in Cley-Next-the-Sea.

The project involved careful demolition, facade propping, structural alteration and significant extensions, allowing a pair of traditional flint cottages to be combined via a spacious, dual aspect glazed link with a curved zinc and sedum roof.

Internally the buildings were modernised with an extensive M&E fit-out, cloaked by natural lime plastered walls and ceilings with oak floors throughout. Multilayered vapour barriers, lambs wool insulation and geo-cell technology, allowed the retained building fabric to gain energy enhancements whilst achieving sustainability credit.

An extensive landscaping scheme created multiple secluded seating areas over varying levels, connected via curved brick and flint retaining walls, wild planters with a focal wildlife pond enhancing the natural ecology of the site.

This meticulously detailed design, brought together with skilled construction, meant we won the ‘‘Existing Houses & Housing’’ and ‘‘Sustainability’’ award categories.

Well done to all involved in this fabulous scheme!
