Congratulations to Jonathon Mitchell-Smith, founder and CEO of TextureJet, who is celebrating seven years of the business this week.

Jonathon co-founded TextureJet in 2019, building the company around his patented electrochemical jet machining technology, which remains at the core of the business today.

As CEO, Jonathon oversees the company’s strategic direction, operations, product development and commercial growth, helping drive TextureJet forward as an innovator in precision manufacturing.

Over the past seven years, TextureJet has continued to grow its technology, team and global presence — a reflection of Jonathon’s vision, leadership and commitment to innovation.

Congratulations, Jon, on this milestone achievement, and here's to the next chapter for TextureJet as we settle in to our new premises in Ripley!

That line from a recent article by The Manufacturer (link below) really resonated with us. At TextureJet, we’re seeing first-hand how collaborative robotics are changing the conversation around advanced manufacturing - not by replacing skilled engineers, but by helping them work smarter, safer, and more efficiently.

That’s exactly why we’ve been developing our collaborative automation cell in partnership with ABB Robotics. We just had our latest TextureJet Team Day. Beginning with a review of where the company is at now, looking ahead to the rest of a very busy 2026, and ending with some bowling for a bit of team fun! This was a great success, with every department sharing learnings and insights. However, we now know we are WAY better at engineering than bowling😂

A proud moment for us this week as the new TextureJet signage went up at our new premises in Ripley.

This move marks an exciting step forward for the business, giving us the space and facilities to support continued growth, increase production capacity, and welcome customers and suppliers to our new home.

It’s been a fantastic few days at Surface Technology, Stuttgart, with a great deal of interest in our electrochemical technology.

We’ve had the pleasure of speaking with many industry professionals and exploring how TextureJet can support a wide range of applications:
- Surface Preparation
- Deburring / Cross-hole Deburring
- Edge Breaking
- Part Marking

Back in Nottingham the team has been busy with the office move! While some of our sales team are away at Surface Technology in Stuttgart, the rest of us have been hands-on with all things boxing, packing, & moving.

Every single member has been amazing and definitely got their daily workout covered with all the heavy-lifting required (moving innovative STAT equipment and accessories is no mean feat)!
