As a Design Engineer at TextureJet, Charlotte is involved in designing and developing the next generation of precision surface engineering technology. In an industry that has traditionally been male-dominated, Charlotte represents the next generation of engineering talent driving innovation and growth.

To mark International Women in Engineering Day, we spoke to her about what inspired her to pursue engineering, her experiences since graduating, and her advice for others considering a career in the profession.

As part of the design team, Charlotte has been with us for almost a year and has made a significant impact on our product development activities, contributing both creatively and strategically across a range of projects. One of her standout achievements has been leading the development of "OmniJet", our collaborative robotics project with ABB.

Dr Patrick Bointon, Chief Product Officer, said:
"Charlotte has been an invaluable member of the team since joining TextureJet. She has brought fresh creativity, technical expertise and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions, highlighted by OmniJet stealing the show at MACH 2026 and Surface Technology. We look forward to seeing her continue to grow and thrive within the business."

As our business grows, so does our need for talented engineers. Charlotte’s story reflects the kind of opportunity and impact a career in engineering and manufacturing can offer young people today.

The big Texture Jet Ltd relocation is complete! A huge thank you to Claire Street, Louise Mason, and the whole moving team for all their hard work in getting everything set up. We could not have done it without you.

June is our first full month in the new Ripley, Derbyshire, office. We're thrilled to have everything running so smoothly in such a short space of time. We now have a bigger and brighter office/board room, lots more space for R&D and production.

Steven Warmington, our Protocol Engineer, said:

''For me, the standout benefit of the new site is having my own dedicated R&D space away from production. It really helps gives me the focus I need to work more efficiently with our flagship machines and technology'.

Enjoy our ‘Before vs After’ video of the new premises — from the office to the workroom, the transformation has been incredible. We could not be happier with the result.

Now it’s time to make the most of all this extra space…
Stay tuned, there are big things to come from TextureJet.

Can you part-mark with zero heat, zero contact, and total precision?

In this video, our ECJM technology is used to accurately part-mark a football design using a controlled electrochemical process, delivering clean, permanent results without damaging the surface.

It's a simple demonstration, but it highlights the precision, control, and repeatability that non-contact surface processing can achieve.

As England prepares to take on Croatia tonight, we're showing our support in true TextureJet style.

Come on England! ⚽

Manufacturing Solutions Ireland starts today in Limerick, and we’re delighted to be attending.

Our Business Development Manager, Louis, will be representing TextureJet throughout the event, discussing how our electrochemical jet machining technology can support manufacturers with:
• Precision deburring & edge breaking
• Cross-hole deburring
• Surface texturing & preparation
• Stress-free processing for high-value components

While we won’t have machines on display at this exhibition, Louis will be available to talk through applications, challenges, and how TextureJet’s non-contact surface processing technology can support your manufacturing needs.

If you’re attending Manufacturing Solutions Ireland at TUS Coonagh Campus in Limerick, we’d be pleased to connect and start a conversation.

We understand that adopting new manufacturing technology is a significant decision.

That’s why TextureJet offers equipment subscription options, allowing customers to trial our Electrochemical Jet Machining (ECJM) technology within their own processes before committing to purchase.

This gives teams the opportunity to validate performance across real applications, including precision deburring, edge breaking, surface preparation, and functional finishing.

If a customer chooses to move forward with purchase, rental costs can be deducted from the final system price.

It’s a simple, flexible way to explore whether TextureJet is the right fit for your manufacturing needs — with confidence built in from the start.

Happy World Environment Day 🌍

At TextureJet, sustainability is one of the core principles driving our technology development.

Traditional methods of deburring, surface preparation and precision component processing can be energy-intensive and generate significant waste. Our electrochemical jet machining (ECJM) technology offers a more sustainable alternative - operating without heat and using a pH-neutral electrolyte to minimise environmental impact.

We are proud that our patented surface processing technologies can help manufacturers significantly reduce waste generation, with independent testing (Wood report 2022) demonstrating reductions of up to 84%.

As manufacturers across the world continue to focus on cleaner, more efficient production methods, we believe advanced engineering has an important role to play in creating a more sustainable future.

Today, we celebrate the engineers, innovators and manufacturers working to make industry better for our planet.

Congratulations to Jonathon Mitchell-Smith, founder and CEO of TextureJet, who is celebrating seven years of the business this week.

Jonathon co-founded TextureJet in 2019, building the company around his patented electrochemical jet machining technology, which remains at the core of the business today.

As CEO, Jonathon oversees the company’s strategic direction, operations, product development and commercial growth, helping drive TextureJet forward as an innovator in precision manufacturing.

Over the past seven years, TextureJet has continued to grow its technology, team and global presence — a reflection of Jonathon’s vision, leadership and commitment to innovation.

Congratulations, Jon, on this milestone achievement, and here's to the next chapter for TextureJet as we settle in to our new premises in Ripley!

Do you need a better way to deburr components without heat, abrasion or inconsistent quality?

If so, you may benefit from TextureJet’s innovative technology. Our approach delivers 4x better precision than manual deburring!

Watch our Chief Revenue Officer, Alan, explain how our electrochemical jet machining (ECJM) process works. With improved repeatability and automation, no thermal damage, and a more environmentally friendly process using pH-neutral saline electrolytes instead of harsh chemicals, what’s not to love?
