Supporting the next generation of creative talent starts with maintaining high workshop standards.
 
Our trainer Nigel recently visited Leeds Beckett University to deliver official PIABC quality-assured certificated operator training for the learning support team within Leeds School of Arts.
 
These technicians play an important role in supporting daily technical production across the university’s music and performing arts studios. Through practical training on key woodworking machinery, the team refreshed their operating skills, strengthened their safety knowledge and helped ensure the workshops continue to run safely and efficiently.

Why is certificated machinery training so important?
 
We recently visited Leeds School of Arts at Leeds Beckett University to deliver certificated operator training for its technical support team.
 
Led by our trainer Nigel, the session brought together technicians and practitioners from across the music and performing arts departments. The team gained practical experience across a range of woodworking machines, helping them support students, maintain safe working practices and keep their studios and production spaces running efficiently.
 
As an IOSH Approved Training Provider, Daltons also delivers PIABC quality-assured machinery training for operators and technical teams.

Unlocking the full potential of a new machine starts with effective operator training.
 
In this video, CNC engineer Josh shares insights from his training session with the Daher Aerospace team on their new Kimla BPF CNC router.
 
Beyond making the controls simple and clear, Josh explains the engineering behind the machine’s performance, including how direct-drive linear motors and Renishaw optical encoder scales on the X and Y axes support high-speed precision, consistent accuracy and reduced material waste.

For Daher Aerospace, this installation marked the replacement of a machine that had been in service for 20 years with a new Kimla CNC router.
 
The upgrade brings faster processing, improved accuracy and greater consistency, helping the team meet the demands of modern aerospace manufacturing.
 
Following rigorous checks before dispatch, our technicians completed the installation, commissioning and staff training on site to help ensure a smooth transition into production.
