Always nice to get written feedback. Some genuine, real good people/clients. Thank you.

"I didn't get around to leaving a recommendation at the time, but all I can say is good things about Matt. He dedicated himself 100% to my kitchen project. Put so much planning and work in.

Gutted the old, ugly kitchen. Cut a doorway into the outhouse to make a downstairs loo. Blocked up the outside doorway and fitted a little window. Fully replastered walls and ceiling. Plumbed a new sink and two new radiators. Laid laminate flooring. Put up all the kitchen fittings. Tiled all round. And cleaned up every bit of mess after himself.

It's fair to say it was a huge job and he had it stacked against him at times (partly my fault for piling on extra jobs half way through), but he pulled through every day.

When a couple of his subcontractors stuffed things up, he took it upon himself to fix their mess and make the job as good as it should have been. In the end, I'm over the moon. It's been about 18 months since he finished the job, and I can't explain how chuffed I am to have had him on the job.

If you want a genuine, hardworking, all-round guy, Matt's the man."

MONDAY 20:00 (8PM) CHANEL 4
GEORGE CLARKE AMAZING SPACES.

Last September, I was involved in what was my favourite project of the year.

A couple of us went as a team to Chippenham to help Liberty push her tiny house on wheels across finish line.

Whilst we did have a job sheet to work from when the time came to leave, I was invested and stayed on for a few more days, going back at weekends.

I was inspired by the dedication she showed on her project as well as her family and friends, never mind the courage to go against the norm to even start a project like this with no extensive skill or Knowledge.

Thanks for letting me be part of your adventure and good luck for the future, I'll pop in for a brew or a cider when I'm next down south.

If you would like some help on a project, go to Mattsherrington.co.uk

I'm sure I could help.

I stand by this motto even more now!!

-As long as your taking 2 steps forward to the 1 step back, your still moving in the right direction-

Just sat down with a pint🍺🍺 thinking about the past 5 months.

After a real crap 3 months - Making wrong decisions, trusting the wrong people, losing money,πŸ’°to be left in the πŸ’©to finish several projects by myself, turning down some amazing projects and also losing a few. I was about to throw the towel in. There were some long and grafting days with no end in sight. But In October and I had final caught up and honoured my quotes. Even if it did take me alot longer than anticipated.🏁

So I decided to get away for a couple of weeks to climb some mountains, do some wild swimming, just take a dip in some cold water. Camp in the middle of nowhere with noone around. Just some time to think about my next move, however that didnt go to plan as I found myself on a DIY SOS project and I'm so glad I did,😁 I met some cracking people, put faces to names and made some good friendships.

What an experience it was to so many people all with smiles on their faces 😁 and people just cracking on. Everyone was on top form. My kind of people. Hopefully ill be able to help out on the next 1 too.

It is true! When 1 door closes another will open sometimes 2 and in my case that deffinatly did. πŸšͺAnd for the past few weeks I've been down here in Bristol doing some cool projects and meeting even more genuinely great people.

Id just want to say sorry to the people/customers ive not managed to get back to or forgot about and Id also like to say thank you to all the people/customers that stuck with me, were understanding and didnt add any more pressure and stress. I will always appreciate that. πŸ‘ Along with the tea supply β˜•

So heres a few photos from a couple of projects im working on along side some people I met on the DIY SOS project.

Looking forward to the next 3+ months. Lets see where this path leads.πŸ€™

So i finished this a couple of weeks ago and what a job. So much more involved. What was meant to be 3 guys and 10 days turnes out to be just me and 6 weeks.

A lovley customer was unfortunately ripped of by a couple of guys that said the right things then did the opposite. They should be ashamed of themselves. Its taking every part of me not to name and shame because this is some of the worse workmanship ive seen in 10 years. Disgrace.

1.No digging
2.No hardcore
3.Dot and dabbed concrete slabs
4.Obviously didnt know how to cut bricks
5.24 out of 40 slabs rocked
6.Decking joist dug in mud channels
7.Decking joist not to specification
8.Used the original decking frame (first installed 20 years ago.) Yes it was rotten.
9.No membrane used under decking
10.Original plants and bushes were just decked over.
11.Blue tarp used for under decorative stone
12.Feather edge fence made from tracing paper
13.Not enough horizontal support for the fence

I removed 6 ton of mud and clay from under the slabs to allow for adequate sub base and mortar

I also removed 8-10 tonne from under the decking and a full layer of membrane from under the decking and treated framework and decking.

Treated the bamboo and removed as much of the roots as possible added A layer of actual w**d membrane (not blue tarp along with eyelets 😞) before re-stoning

Re did the fence with the correct amount of support and painted with 3 coats

All in all a good job with a very happy customer. With me anyway.

Thanks for the supply of Tea.πŸ‘
