PatoGen is happy to announce the appointment of Dr. Johanna Baily as Senior Advisor in Histopathology. This is an important step for PatoGen’s efforts to build a strong fish health team specializing on Scottish production.

Dr. Baily has long-standing experience in aquaculture both in industry and in academia, most recently as a Senior Lecturer in Aquatic Pathology at the University of Stirling. She is a European specialist in veterinary pathology, member of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP) and brings first-hand expertise in health and welfare of farmed fish.

"I can’t wait to be a part of such a great team of histopathologists and fish health specialists, supporting fish health and diagnostics both in Scotland and Norway."

If everything goes as planned, we estimate that the lab will be operational in the middle of October.

Meet Teresa!

Teresa has been working as a Key Account Manager for PatoGen in the UK since 2018. She has a PhD in biology and biochemistry and has 10 years of experience working in the industry. Before PatoGen she worked 7 years at Mowi as Fish Health Laboratory Manager.

“We have established a good trust relationship with our customers and it’s always very rewarding to see how they count on us to understand the variable issues they face during the production.”

She is very much looking forward to the opening of PatoGen’s laboratory in Oban and says that “it is the excellent collaboration, and the proactive farmers focus on maintaining good fish health and welfare that allows us to commit to the next step in PatoGen’s establishment in the UK.”
