We’re Hiring – Depot-Based Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Depot-Based Engineer to join our team at a small, specialist engineering business focused on the maintenance and repair of lifting equipment, including Hiab cranes, Multilift and Moffett equipment.

This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who can work independently, has strong attention to detail and is confident working with electrical overload systems, hydraulic circuitry and structural inspections.

🛠️ The Role

Your responsibilities will include:

• Servicing and repairing a range of lifting equipment

• General maintenance and fault finding

• Carrying out LOLER inspections

• Completing service and inspection paperwork accurately and on time

• Working independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship

👷 What We’re Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience in a similar engineering role

• Experience with lifting equipment or relevant engineering machinery

• A good understanding of engineering components

• Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems

• The ability to work independently and methodically

• A diligent approach with excellent attention to detail

• The ability to hit the ground running following a short familiarisation period

There is also scope for further progression within the business for the right person.

💷 Salary: £25,000–£35,000 per year, depending on experience and ability

📅 Job Type: Full-time

📍 Location: Depot-based / In person

When a critical piece of equipment goes down in the middle of the night, "we’ll look at it tomorrow" just isn't in our vocabulary. Downtime for a major fleet means delayed deliveries and disrupted supply chains.

So, when the call came in during the early hours, we laced up our boots and hit the road - undertaking a 5-hour round trip to get the job done

A few hours of driving and a quick, expert fix later, the Moffett was powered back up, and the Pets UK lorry was back on track.
It’s not just about fixing machinery; it’s about being the reliable partner our clients can trust to keep them moving, no matter the hour, no matter the distance.
