When a packing operation reaches capacity, adding more labour isn't always the best solution.

Time can be lost choosing the right box, adding void fill, cutting down oversized packaging or adapting boxes to fit the product.

A Right Size packaging solution creates the box needed for each order, helping to reduce manual tasks and create a simpler, more efficient packing process whilst reducing operational costs.

What's the real cost of void fill for your business?

Void fill looks cheap but it can increase costs elsewhere without you realising. You're not just paying for the material. You're also paying for:

➡️Additional labour
➡️Larger boxes
➡️Freight to ship empty space

Smart businesses aren't buying cheaper void fill, they're redesigning their packaging process so that void fill isn't needed at all.

Are customer complaints about packaging becoming a regular occurrence?

Damage, excessive void fill or slow dispatch can all be signs that your current boxes aren’t the right fit for the products you’re shipping.

A month-end review is a good opportunity to look beyond individual complaints and consider the wider packaging process.

Find out how a Right Size packaging solution can help improve product fit, reduce unnecessary material and create a faster, more consistent packing process https://ribble-pack.co.uk/right-size

Packaging decisions can affect costs throughout the supply chain, not just in the warehouse.

With a Right Size packaging solution you can create boxes to better fit each order, helping reduce unnecessary material and empty space while supporting more efficient packing, storage and transport.

For the right operation, those improvements can contribute to packaging cost savings of around 30%. So instead of just asking, “Can we buy boxes for less?”, the better question is: “How much could we save by using the right size box for every order?”

Fanfold corrugated board is often associated with flexibility, but it also gives businesses more control.

Managing a wide range of box sizes can mean some are overstocked, others run short and valuable space is taken up by boxes that are hardly used.

Instead of stocking a wide range of finished box sizes, Fanfold board can be converted into the right size box when it’s needed. That means less reliance on predicting demand for every box size and greater control over packaging stock.

For businesses with changing product sizes, control can be just as valuable as flexibility.

Manufacturing teams know that even a small product change can affect the wider production process, and packaging is often part of that challenge.

When dimensions change, relying on fixed box sizes can mean oversized packaging, excess void fill or waiting for the right box to arrive in stock.

Fanfold corrugated board and Right Size packaging solutions offer a more flexible approach, allowing manufacturers to produce boxes to fit their products, when they need them. For varied or made-to-order production, it’s a more flexible way to keep packaging in line with manufacturing.
