Cold, wet conditions change how C&D material moves through a plant.♻️❄️

Heavier moisture content means slower flow, increased compaction and a bigger challenge for consistent separation.

From screening efficiency to ferrous removal, winter places extra demand on every part of the line. If your throughput drops as temperatures fall, it’s often material behaviour, not just machinery. 🌨️

We help sites optimise flow for difficult seasonal conditions. Reach out if winter is impacting your productivity.

New month, new milestone: CRS NI has officially expanded into ASR metal recycling plant design.

Our engineering team has spent months developing systems that separate ferrous and non-ferrous metals with precision, maximising recovery rates and plant performance.

A big achievement for the team and a major step for our clients looking to make every material count!

When a client stays with you for years, that says it all.🤩🙌

Barry’s Skips first came to CRS NI after testing other screens, and finding ours was the only one that could handle their fine material with consistent throughput and clean separation.

That first CRS screen has served them faithfully ever since. And now, they’ve just taken delivery of their brand-new replacement: another CRS single-deck flip flow screen, built to the same high standard.✨

A huge thanks to Gerard Flannagan and the Barry’s Skips team for their continued trust and partnership.

Six months into the new Simpler Recycling rules, businesses are feeling the pressure: more fractions to separate, more oversight, higher expectations. ♻️

CRS NI static systems make compliance practical — high-speed sorting, reduced contamination, and layouts designed around your streams.

Built for the rules of today, not yesterday.

Another great example of modular, efficient design — and we’ve only just begun to capture it.

As weather shifts, so does your material. ☀️🍂❄️

When winter hits, operators often switch to larger flip-flow mats, giving stickier, wetter material a better chance to separate cleanly.

❓But here’s the question:
How long does it take your team to change them?

We’ve seen crews lose up to 2 hours per swap on some systems, every time the mats need replacing.

Our knock-in style flip-flow mats take around an hour, no bolts, no hassle.

And when the weather changes, speed matters.

Sorting isn’t just about machinery, it’s about people.

A cramped cabin, awkward belt heights, or narrow walkways all slow down picking rates and tire crews faster than you’d think. 👇

That’s why CRS NI’s CRS‑021 Mobile Picking Station is designed with operators in mind:

✅ Enclosed, heated cabin with natural light
✅ Double-sided walkways and correct belt height
✅ Ergonomic drop‑boxes and optional magnets/fans

When layout supports the crew, pick rates rise, with less fatigue and fewer mistakes.
