Kitchen Diner extension built for our lovely customer in Bickley.

The customer originally had another builder to build the shell, but after a bad experience and the builder leaving them with an incomplete building, they approached us to take over the job after receiving a strong personal recommendation from their building inspector.

The extension has transformed their home into a modern space for modern living. The kitchen area flows seamlessly into the dining area and then into a soft seating area that creates a space perfect for family living, which is also great for entertaining.

The large bifold doors combined with the roof windows flood the area with light, which creates a light and airy spacious feel.

The crittle style doors and windows add a bold focal point to the room which blends harmoniously with the contemporary kitchen.

A bespoke built pantry, complete with sliding doors, has provided the family with ample storage for their groceries - a must for the budding chef!

(Not shown) An internal boot room / utility room has provided the customer with a functional space to do the laundry, and a great place to hide those dirty dishes when entertaining!

Externally we created a bespoke seating area and steps cast from polished concrete. They create a modern industrial look, which compliments the overall look of the extension.

This extension has completely changed the flow of their home, and has created a space that is much better suited to modern family life.

New open plan kitchen, dining & living area for our lovely client in Orpington.

When our client first approached us they had an existing kitchen, dining room and conservatory that were all separate rooms, with the layout not flowing.

By replacing the conservatory roof and increasing the insulation in the property, the client was able to undergo a SAP test on the property to allow us to remove the internal walls and create this amazing open space.

Walls removed, rewired and replastered; this project has created a beautiful space perfect for entertaining. The new roof light in the conservatory floods the room with light, creating a light and airy feel. The conservatory now lends itself to a soft seating area, to sit and enjoy the views of the beautiful garden.

The Chelford Dove Grey kitchen, fitted by us, looks fantastic paired with the bespoke marble effect Quartz worktop.

Finished with wood flooring fitted by our friends at

SAVE ABBEY MUSIC STUDIOS!

For nearly 30 years Abbey Music Studios (AMS) in Abbey Wood (London SE2) has provided a music hub for local artists, bands and producers for rehearsal and recording purposes, and for musicians and interested visitors from all over the world. It has also provided free recording and group sessions to local NHS patients and other individuals with mental health and learning difficulties.

The Studio building is within the grounds of Goldie Leigh Hospital and now the Oxleas NHS Trust who run the Hospital have given the Studio notice that its lease will not be renewed and that it must close by 9 May 2023.

The Trust say they want to use the building for other purposes. This is despite there being several other large, un-used buildings within the Hospital grounds, some of which have stood empty for over 30 years.

The closure will be a devastating blow to the livelihood of those who work at the Studio, and will remove the vital role the Studio plays in providing services to mental health patients and to the local community.

The Studio building was completely derelict, vandalised, flooded and unusable when AMS took it over in the early 90s. The gaping holes in the roof of the building were repaired at the expense of AMS who have invested thousands of pounds in renovating the building and fitting it out with state of the art, made-to-measure, recording equipment, and rehearsal rooms.

The NHS Trust paid no funds whatsoever towards the renovation of the building, but they now want to take it back in its current condition, with no offers of compensation or alternative accommodation.

The Trust seem to be happy to put an end to local mental health patients’ free music sessions which AMS have provided for nearly 30 years.

Patients are able to play/learn musical instruments, record their work, rehabilitate and socialise in a safe and friendly environment. This also helps them from becoming institutionalised.

The patients’ local Carers have always been delighted with the service the Studio provides. They understand the benefits that music can bring to those with mental health issues, but that understanding does not seem to be shared by the Trust’s managers. This is a service which should be embraced and developed, not discontinued.

Of course, the Studio also provides a very beneficial service to bands, singers, DJs, etc, in the local community and beyond.

Thousands of musicians have cut their teeth at AMS since 1994, and developed their craft to a professional level. Users of the studio include Mark Shaw (lead singer with Then Jerico), The Upsetters (Lee Perry's backing band), Jaz Ellington, and various members of bands such as Squeeze, T'Pau and Nine Below Zero.

The Studio also provides a service to producers and sound editors. The soundtrack to the 2021 Abba Exhibition at the O2 London was produced at the Studio, as was the recent Forever Young charity single for Ukraine.

AMS does not want to close, so please help us fight the closure by signing the petition to Save Our Studios (SOS) and by also asking friends to sign and share.

Bespoke retaining walls built for our repeat customer in Sundridge Park, Bromley. Our clients fantastic garden was originally held up by a retaining wall made of railway sleepers, but unfortunately beetles had infested the wood causing it to breakdown. We rebuilt the walls with reinforced concrete blocks, providing much better strength and durability. This also included internal water drainage to help with land water. Finished in grey slate tiling and crisp white render, these retaining walls add great aesthetics to this beautiful garden whilst also doing an important job. As part of this project we also constructed a bespoke staircase to provide access to the upper garden space, finished in wood effect non slip porcelain tiles.

Want more room at home? Ever considered a garden room? Garden rooms are a great way to utilise the space in your garden. Whether it’s a home office, a chill out room to read a book or listen to music, or even just for extra storage, they are a great solution for maximising your space. We built this garden room for our repeat customer in Petts Wood, Bromley. Built with a timber construction, this garden room is fully insulated and plastered throughout, fitted with full heating and electrics, and finished with roof lights and bi-fold doors. Incorporated into the design is also a shed area for storage, and also a workshop! Clad in that beautiful sage green, the building blends effortlessly into the rest of the garden. A fantastic project. Interested in something similar? Get in touch!
