Hope you enjoyed the sunny Bank Holiday Weekend.
On Friday Craig braved the traffic to enjoy the sunshine and visit Plot 2 at Porth-Y-Waen development before it is handed over to the lucky home owner next week, who took the opportunity to chose their own kitchen and finishes.
This unique speculative 3 plot development just outside Oswestry was designed around the stunning south facing views, and taking in the site gradient with the split levels. Solar, Air Source, storage battery and MVHR make these dwellings energy efficient.

We had an interesting conversation in the pub recently over a pint. A known gentleman said "I can always tell a Ke-design job........ you have a style".
For a moment we thought he was going to say they all look the same!
We've never really thought that we have a style, as every job is unique, and that he was referring to a contemporary look.
But on further discussion, what the gentleman meant was you can tell its a Ke-design job as is well designed and thought about, as he followed it up with "not like those red brick boxes".
So just in case everyone's presumption is that Ke-design only does contemporary, here are some traditional houses we designed for a rural development.

PLANNING ALERT:
Ke-design are pleased to have received PLANNING APPOVAL for a 2 storey side extension, and rear first floor extension, to a former squatters cottage (treated as a Non Designated Heritage Asset).

Now, the observant of you will see images with REFUSED stamped all over. And those who read our posts (and not just look at the pretty pictures) will remember a few months back our post about a 2 storey side extension to a non-descript 1980s dwelling in the countryside getting refused. To those who commented on the quality of the design, we thank you.

So here are the 2 projects, side by side, 1 approved, 1 refused, which we feel is a good example of the inconsistency in planning.

A project for a new dwelling Ke-design got planning for.
The design overcome the diagonal slope of the site by creating 2 elements set at two levels and connecting the two with the stair core.
Unfortunately it was never built as the former garden was sold with the house and not developed.

What a busy weekend it was Homebuilding & Renovating Show.
It was lovely to meet everyone and discuss their projects.
Lots of compliments on our stand and projects. Current clients come by and said Hi.
Great to catch up with other exhibitors and a few social pints and dinners with Welsh Oak Frame

Mothering Sunday lunch was followed by taking Mum & Dad out for a Sunday drive to see how the development was going in Porth-Y-Waen, Nr Oswestry.

Plot 2 is looking fantastic now the scaffolding is down, and is almost ready for hand over to the purchaser at the end of the month.
