Completing the new 100th portrait for the UCL How you See Us 100 UCL employees of African origin today. Joseph Ampabeng, a truly great guy who keeps students and staff safe on campus always interesting to chat with and he's also learning how to speak Chinese, no mean feat. We had decided on the first image to be part of the 100 set but he might change his mind ,we'll wait and see.

Asked to Photograph the amazing Play ground by Varvara Uhlik for UCL Art. Exhibition of Postgraduate work at Slade School of Art, last day today if you would like to see the whole summer Show

This installation revisits the architecture of post-Soviet childhood. Three metal structures - a swing, a slide and a rocket are reconstructed from memory, based on standardised playgrounds that can be found across Ukraine and the former USSR.
What once symbolised innocence now feels marked by violence - quiet echo of systems that have not vanished, only shifted.Slade School of Art summer show. 20/06/2025

Had the pleasure of being asked by to photograph HRH The Duke of Wessex’s visit for them. Derwen college is a specialist college for young adults (aged 16–25) with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Gobowen, Shropshire. The College has an amazing dedicated D of E centre where students have the opportunity to earn the awards, learning valuable life skills. It was a wonderful experience for them to have the Duke of Edinburgh visit. He talked to students & staff, shared a few jokes, took part in demonstrations and saw first hand some of the various skills they develop through the & at the Derwen College. He had a wider tour of the colleges retail areas where students get hands on experience of working in the garden centre, shop and restaurant where HRH also had lunch served by some of the students.
A wonderful day and happy to be reprise my royal photographer role for them enabling his whole visit to be photographed up close.

Working with the Bartlett School of Architecture I get to photograph students projects through various stages. This is a few examples of photographing first year Bsc students collaborative projects being installed and demonstrated at Camley Street natural Park in St Pancreas. The photography helps with documentation, gives students images for their portfolios and content for marketing and comms for the courses so multiple benefits across the board. It also helps students see the importance of documenting the process. Always a real pleasure for me to see how students ideas have evolved and their processor creating and thinking about the projects. Six temporary Y1 installations that respond to signals from the ground and beyond, measuring and relaying signals to transform the grounds into a landscape of antennas for a on day event.

I again had the pleasure of photographing the Bartlett Fifteen Show for Bartlett comms. An amazing collection of ideas and research projects. The show was split between the Bartletts Gordon Street site and the Here East Campus on the Olympic park in London. Here is a taste of some of the work by Eighty 2023-2024 graduates of Design for Manufacture MArch, Design for Performance & Interaction MArch and Situated Practice MA will exhibit their work to industry, academics and the general public. This year's show is centred around the theme Proximities, addressing the multi-sited nature of the exhibition and of the school itself.

The work exhibited is diverse and forward-thinking, exploring and creating new forms of practice. The exhibition will include films, performances, structures and ephemera.

Had the pleasure of photographing the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) 121st conference in Dublin. I've been photographing their conferences over the last 12 years covering every aspect of the conference including social events, award receptions, working group sessions, hackathon, portraits, plenary session, breakouts & sponsor images. Helping create a full range of images and video's highlighting the great work that is undertaken to develop internet standards that we all use.
A truly amazing group of people from companies and organisation across the globe who work on solving problems, develop new protocols across every sector.
I've made many friends and gained a small amount of insight into what it takes to key the internet and everything that connects to it working and secure.
One of the fascinating elements of my work is discovering the work that many organisations undertake and being able to help them communicate what they do and the individuals involved as well as the quality of events.

8 more of my portraits from “How you see us” 100 UCL Employees: How You See Us’ project features photo portraits of 100 members of staff from across the institution and highlights a vast array of specialists and roles, including engineers, teaching fellows, HR and legal professionals, communicators, facilities and security staff.
The exhibition launches at a special event on October 31st, marking the end of Black History Month (BHM), and will initially be held at UCL’s Bartlett School of Architecture at 22 Gordon Street, for six weeks before going on tour to other parts of UCL.
Along with showcasing the important roles African and Caribbean staff play in every aspect of UCL, the exhibition is intended to shine a spotlight on individuals for many months, far longer than BHM allows.
