Tešíme sa, že spolu s Marián Kupčulák sme boli vybraní do Forbes 30 Under 30 Europe 2024 v kategórii Science & Healthcare za našu prácu v Sensible Biotechnologies na novej generácii mRNA liekov a zvyšovaní globálnej biologickej bezpečnosti premenou živých buniek na nákladovo efektívne továrne na škálovateľnú produkciu vysokokvalitnej mRNA.

Odkedy sme pred 2,5 rokmi spustili Sensible, prešli sme dlhou cestou: rýchlo sme vyvinuli našu mRNA platform, uzavreli strategické partnerstvá, získali financie od špičkových amerických a európskych DeepTech a TechBio investorov, rozšírili náš tím na viac ako 20 fantastických ľudí po celom svete - a omnoho viac.

Je to pre nás veľká motivácia ďalej pokračovať na našej ceste smerom k novým mRNA liekom a zároveň k posilneniu globálnej biologickej bezpečnosti, ako aj k rozvoju európskeho (a najmä slovenského) life science ekosystému - a vybudovať prvú globálnu biotech firmu, ktorá vznikne aj na Slovensku.

Since we started Sensible 2.5 years ago, we have gone through a long journey: we rapidly advanced our mRNA platform, closed strategic partnerships, raised funding from leading US and European DeepTech and TechBio investors, scaled our team to 20+ fantastic people across the globe - and more.

Konferencia JP Morgan Healthcare Conference 2024 je tu a som nadšený, že môžem byť v San Franciscu pri tomto najväčšom globálnom stretnutí biotech sektora a stretnúť sa so všetkými kamarátmi, mentormi, investormi a každým, kto by sa chcel dozvedieť viac o našej bunkovej platforme na výrobu vysokokvalitnej a lacnej mRNA škálovateľným spôsobom tak, aby sme umožnili ďalšiu generáciu mRNA liekov.

Teším sa, že prostredníctvom Sensible bude na JPM bude zastúpená aj fima, ktorá robí biotechnologický výskum a vývoj aj na Slovensku!

Mám ešte pár dier v kalendári, takže ak by ste sa chceli porozprávať alebo si dať kávu, dajte mi vedieť!

Počasie vyzerá lepšie ako minulý rok, ale v každom prípade som natrénovaný na sneh zo Slovenska a na dážď z Anglicka, tak dúfam, že budem v cajku.

I am glad that through Sensible Biotechnologies, there will be a company at JPM that also does its biotech product development in Slovakia.

Coaxing cells to produce mRNA for therapeutic applications has been an unsuccessful endeavor so far. Miroslav Gasparek is on a mission to use synbio to change that. His company Sensible Biotechnologies is partnering with Ginkgo Bioworks to develop the next generation of mRNA therapeutics.

We are pleased to announce the launch of Sensible Biotechnologies! Led by the CEO Miroslav Gašpárek and Chief Science Officer Marián Kupčulák we are a team of experienced life science executives and young bioengineers building a cell-based manufacturing platform to enable the next generation of mRNA therapeutics and vaccines.

And we are excited about our strategic partnership with Ginkgo Bioworks, as we are joining forces to develop a novel in vivo mRNA platform!

But why? And why does it matter?

Today, all the mRNA is synthesised via cell-free processes, which are expensive, cumbersome, and cannot produce mRNA with sufficient quality for many of its promising clinical applications. Unless we solve these mRNA manufacturing challenges, the full potential of this technology may never be fully realised.

To solve this problem, we engineer cells to produce high-quality mRNA in a scalable and cost-efficient fashion to meet the growing demand for mRNA in novel vaccines and therapies.

By leveraging Ginkgo's expertise and our internal capabilities, we are aiming to build a scalable platform to produce clinical-grade mRNA with superior quality, which will enabling the development of novel mRNA therapeutic modalities. This partnership reinforces our dedication to advancing nucleic acid therapeutics and improving the lives of patients worldwide.

Together with Ginkgo Bioworks, we are committed to transforming the mRNA landscape and unleashing a new generation of life-saving treatments.
