The modern units, completely refurbished specifically to suit our synchrotron beamline business, provide a combination of office and manufacturing space in the ratio of 1:3. The current layout includes a dedicated UHV cleaning and testing area, extensive ‘in-air’ assembly areas and dedicated ‘in-vacuum’ clean assembly areas. Within the main clean assembly area there is a temperature-controlled isolation room incorporating a large optical table on which to test precision motion systems, such as DCMs and mirror systems. There is a new diagnostics and development department with X-ray source with ISO7 Laminar Flow Unit and a rebuilt and extended cleanroom offering a total area of approximately 110m2.

Last week we spent a fantastic evening at The Engineering Trust Annual Awards, held at the British Motor Museum, celebrating talent, achievement and the employers who continue to support and invest in apprenticeships across our region.

We were delighted to be there to support both Bryn and James, who both received Highly Commended awards in their respective categories; Bryn – Apprentice of the Year and James – Trevor Woodger Award for Career Progression.
