Phase 2 is complete at Castell Coch.

We were tasked with providing external access to the South Tower masonry, roofs and chimneys, all within strict heritage constraints.

The scaffold had to remain completely independent of the castle buttressing. In simple terms, we couldn’t found the scaffold close to the facades.

Our solution. Support the scaffold from the face of the existing elevations via bespoke brackets and inverted scaffold beams anchored accordingly.

The scale of this structure, combined with the historic sensitivity of the site, made this one of our most complex designs in recent years.

The scaffold had to remain completely independent of the castle buttressing. In simple terms, we couldn’t find the scaffold close to the facades.

Huge credit to for delivering it on site and making a challenging scheme look straightforward.
