🏗️ An outbuilding for a village hall…

It’s been a while since I’ve built in brick! 🧱 Living and working in Cornwall, most of our building work is blockwork, so it was great to get back to brick on this one.

This was my last job in the Midlands before heading back home to Cornwall.

A proper change of scenery — and a great project to finish on! 👌

Back from the Midlands and straight into a Sunday repair job! 🔨

Removing rotten fascia and soffit and replacing them with new tantalised timber, ready for the customer to paint .

No rest for the builders! 💪 Another repair job completed and the roofline looking fresh again.

Stage 3 — Final Stage 🛠️

The final layer is down! 👌

A layer of flexible self-levelling compound is applied over the heat mat, creating a smooth, level surface ready for the next stage.

⏱️ 2–3 hours setting time

Once set, it’s ready for tiling — bringing us one step closer to the finished floor. ✨

Before the next stage can begin, the existing floor is carefully prepared and primed to create the perfect surface for the works ahead.

Stage 1: Floor Levelling 🏗️

At Simon Earp Building Contractors, we undertake all types of building work, from the initial groundwork through to the finishing touches.

Stage 1 of this project is getting the floor perfectly level and prepared, ready for the underfloor heating system to be installed.

A solid, precise foundation is essential for achieving the best finish and performance as the project progresses🔨
