Note the Coho Salmon recovery - all down to habitat reconstruction. We have done nothing here. Even since the European Water Framework Directive 2000. The strongest legislation addressing the life cycle of H2O from groundwater to all surface waters. What did the UK do. Translate the primary legislation into the weakest fu***ng watered down piece of s**t. Please excuse the pun. An opportunity to enhance the water environment and provide the framework to increase the biodiversity to what it was. Nearly 30 years of doing f**k all! Oh no, I nearly forgot. We've reintroduced the Beaver. Look closely at the damage they have caused to salmonid migration routes. They're f**ked. Now I can feel my ears burn as the thoughts of you are disagreeing with my thoughts on the Beaver reintroduction. Well you are completely wrong. I do believe in reestablishing species that we have hunted to extinction, but Beavers have been indiscriminately thrown everywhere with no consideration or studies to substantiate the reintroduction. My favourite animal is undoubtedly Wolves and there is nothing more than I would like to see them running in the highlands and just like the Beaver, They both became extinct here only hundreds of years ago. A nano unit of species liveability. But let's be honest here, there is no place for these animals anymore in this country. The evolution of the species, that is homosapien evolution, has fundamentally destroyed their place in the natural ecosystem that has evolved in their absence, no place for them now. Humans have effectively destroyed their role in the ecosystem and there is no place for them in the Anthropocene. I love Beaver and like seeing one in the wild, right place at the right time! So far I have seen them in the wrong places.
