Exciting boat day today at Calport and Perth Harbour. For the first time in many years our cargo being loaded onto the Wilson Mersey is not fishmeal nor animal feed but Barite. Loaded very quickly this morning with no issues but had to wait until next tide to trim the vessel. Sails again tomorrow morning.

This has been brought to us from the Duntanlich Mine in Logierait and will be shipped to Great Yarmouth. Barite is a natural mineral consisting of barium and sulfate. The mineral is abundant around the world but is rarely in economically concentrations. Scotland has two known economical sources: Foss Mine and Duntanlich Mine.

Great to have the Wilson Rhine arrive back to Calport Ltd and Perth Harbour today on a calm, quiet River Tay. Everything is all ready to unload approx 1000t of fishmeal this morning.

Fantastic to see the Wilson Main arriving this sunny afternoon at Calport and Perth Harbour with 1200t of fishmeal for discharge tomorrow. All going well she will leave again on the afternoon tide tomorrow.

We were very lucky today with the weather when offloading the Eems Sun, just 10 mins of rain, which meant offloading was completed efficiently and quickly, thanks to our great team.

Looking forward to seeing the next boat in Perth Harbour very soon…

Fantastic to have the Eems Sun arriving at Calport today for discharge tomorrow. Following the dredging earlier this week this has enabled us to bring in one of the longest boats, at 87 metres, for many many years.

Fingers crossed for good weather conditions tomorrow…

Further to Calport securing a dredging license last year, today saw the arrival of the MV Selkie from Buckie to complete a one-off dredge project for Calport to clear the sand that has accumulated at the mouth of Perth Harbour. The MV Selkie is equipped with a 360 degree excavator and a range of buckets. This will enable future boats to bring in bigger loads to Calport.
