π From a Nervous New Starter to Apprenticeship Success! π
There are moments in education that remind us exactly why we do what we do, and this is certainly one of them.
This week, our Careers Leader, Sonia, received a wonderful email from Abigail's mum:
π¬ "Thank you for being a part in what my daughter has achieved. She would not have her apprenticeship without putting her in contact with John. So as a very proud parent thank you."
This was followed by a lovely message from Abigail herself, sharing that she is settling in well at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and enjoying life as an apprentice.
Abigail joined Greater Peterborough UTC in Year 12 as a quiet student, but with a clear ambition: she wanted to study a T Level and pursue a career as a Biomedical Engineer.
Over the past two years, we have watched her grow in confidence, develop her technical skills and fully embrace every opportunity available to her. From excelling on her industry placement to becoming an outstanding ambassador for our school, Abigail has been a fantastic example of what can be achieved through hard work, resilience and determination.
One of our proudest moments was seeing Abigail confidently address a room full of members from the Cambridgeshire Chamber of Commerce, where she spoke passionately about the benefits of T Levels and industry placements. To see how far she had come from that nervous Year 12 student made us incredibly proud.
Her success on placement has now helped secure the apprenticeship she worked so hard for, and we could not be happier for her.
Congratulations, Abigail. We know this is just the beginning of an exciting career journey. We also know this won't be goodbye, as we look forward to welcoming you back as part of our growing UTC Alumni community.
π If you're considering your next steps and would like to find out more about our T Levels, we're open tomorrow, Friday 21st August, from 10am to 1pm.
Come and discover where a T Level could take you.
