One Roof. Multiple Properties. One Smart Solar Solution! ⚡️

Here’s an interesting project we completed earlier this year. We were tasked with finding a solar solution for a developer with slightly different set of requirements from the everyday solar install.

The site consisted of 6 landlord-owned flats and 4 privately owned homes, all sharing the same roof space.

The challenge…. Making sure each property could benefit from solar generation, whilst giving the landlord control and flexibility over how the energy was distributed across the tenanted flats.

Our solution? A 51 panel solar PV installation, carefully designed to serve each of the different properties requirements.

🏢 6 Tenanted Flats

* 21 x solar panels connected to a 10kW SolarEdge PV inverter.
* Integrated with an Allume system, allowing the landlord to allocate the solar energy generated between the 6 flats as required.

🏡 3 Private Houses

* 8 x solar panels installed for each house.
* Each property served by its own 3.68kW SolarEdge inverter, providing an independent solar PV system and full control of their own system for the owner.

🏠 1 Private Maisonette

* 6 x solar panels installed as a dedicated system for the smaller property again powered by a 3.68kW SolarEdge inverter.

The result?

A tailored solar installation that makes the most of the available roof space, whilst meeting the very different needs of the landlord and individual homeowners.

Projects like this show that solar isn’t always as straightforward as putting panels on a roof. Sometimes it’s about finding the right technology, designing the right system and making everything work together.

A great example of how clever design and the right equipment can unlock the benefits of solar for multi-occupancy developments.

Another big one finished!

We were delighted to sign off this project last Friday and handover to the customer so they can start benefitting from their new system.

We installed 649 x 645W AIKO panels across this site, just over 418kWp. This is running through 4 x 80kW Sigenergy commercial inverters.

But that is not the best bit, the numbers speak for themselves…

This site uses around 752MWh of electricity a year. This system expected to produce around 409MWh. Meaning around 54% of their total annual usage is now being produced by their previous empty roof space.

Of the 409MWh produced we estimate the site will consume around 260MWh, with the rest being sold back to the grid for a profit.

That works out at a saving of close to £6,300 a month!! While knocking around 39% off their electricity bill.

It gets better still, after just 3.2 years, the system will of completely paid for itself and start generating pure profit!

Not bad for putting all that unused roof space to work!

Something a little different yesterday we were invited to David Lloyd St Neots friends and family day & what a place it is!!!

We started the day off with a game of padel, then tried out the new state of the art gym followed by relaxing in the spa.

Of course we couldn’t finish the day without trying out the restaurant and the food was amazing!

Something a bit different from our usual posts…. Having been involved in grassroots football for many years, we’ve always been incredibly appreciative of the local businesses that step up to support youth teams through sponsorship.

We know first hand just how much that support means to a grassroots club. So, to now be in a position where we can give something back ourselves and sponsor Stanground Purple u12’s is an incredibly proud moment for us.

Seeing the boys wearing the Lumar Group Ltd name on their shirts is a special feeling, and we’re delighted to play a small part in supporting their journey.

Things we love to see….

One of our customers kindly shared their energy statistics with us after the amazing weather we’ve had the past couple of days and it we wanted to share with our followers so you can see the results for yourselves!

Over this 2 day period our customer has:

* Only paid their daily standing charge
* Served the homes full consumption first
* Topped their battery fully up
* Exported 71.7kWh back to the grid at 12p per kWh
* Earned £8.60 on export payments
* Made a net profit of £7.50 on their electricity after standing charge payment

At this run rate (£3.75 per day), this customer can expect a monthly net PROFIT of £116.25!

Solar is about more than just lowering bills, it’s turning your house into an income generating asset!

Lovely day to officially hand over our latest commercial installation to Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes.

This project will make a real difference to the hospice, helping reduce long-term energy costs so more funding can go towards the incredible care and support they provide to patients and families in the local community.

This 63.7kWp installation compromised of 137 x 465W solar panels powered by 2 powerful inverters.

Alongside the solar we also previously installed 5 x 22kW EV chargers to support a more sustainable future for the site allowing them to move to an electric van, whilst offering charging out to their patients and visitors.

A great project we are extremely proud to have been a part of, and a big thank you as always to our partners at for their collaboration throughout

Part 2! Following on from our post yesterday of our double header, here is the commercial install we carried out for our customer.

We installed an 11kWp system made up of 24 465W Panels powered by a Fox Inverter.

This customer also had an electric van, so we installed a 7kW Project EV charger, allowing them to divert an excess solar generation directly into the van… saving even more money!

Quick update on our Willen project we shared recently…

We’re making great progress on site with 2 roofs now fully panelled, another 2 are hooked and railed, and a fifth roof is getting hooked and railed today.

Everything’s moving smoothly and we’re right on track to finish ahead of schedule
